YSRCP to launch App for reporting ‘harassment and injustice by officials'

The YSRCP is preparing to launch a mobile application next week that is designed to document and report 'instances of harassment and injustice by the officials.' Disclosing this at the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting on Tuesday, YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said the app would be useful to lodge complaints against the officials who 'harass or mistreat' people or party workers. 'People can submit detailed accounts of the incidents, along with any supporting evidence, such as photos or documents. They will be securely stored in a digital library server,' he said, adding, 'The moment our government comes to power, we will open this digital library and ensure that those responsible are held accountable under the law. Those responsible will be brought to justice with interest. No one will be spared.' Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that the NDA dispensation was engaged in 'deception and vengeance.' The Naidu-led government misused State machinery to target YSRCP leaders through false cases and arrests. The arrests of MP Midhun Reddy, Nandigam Suresh, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy and Kakani Govardhan Reddy were politically motivated, he alleged. Allegations against police 'A few police officials, including DIGs, DSPs, and CIs, are involved in organised crime, extortion, and illegal liquor auctions, with kickbacks allegedly flowing to the MLAs and even the Chief Minister's family,' Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged. He called upon the leaders to shed complacency and take the lead in revitalising the party's organisational framework. 'Our honeymoon period is over. If we don't act now, we risk losing touch with the people,' he said, adding the party must prepare for elections at any time, and build a strong structure that would ensure YSRCP's continuity for the next 30 to 40 years. He directed that party committees be immediately set up at the village and booth levels. He highlighted the success of the party's campaign titled 'Recalling Chandrababu's Manifesto – Babu Surety, Fraud Guarantee'.

Anagani alleges Jagan, Roja ‘stumbling blocks' in State's development

Minister for Revenue, Stamps and Registration Anagani Satya Prasad on Tuesday alleged that former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and former minister R.K. Roja were acting like 'stumbling blocks' in the State's development. Speaking to the media here on Tuesday (July 22), he said that it was 'below dignity' for him to speak on some politicians who were bent on stalling development in the State. 'Our Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu made 56 field level trips across the State during the last 13 months, but our former Chief Minister does not even have the intention of attending the Assembly sessions. If Jagan is really interested in the people's welfare, why does not he attend the Assembly?', he asked. The Minister joined MLAs Arani Srinivasulu (Tirupati) and Bojjala Venkata Sudhir Reddy (Srikalahasti), MCT Commissioner N. Mourya and Andhra Pradesh Greening and Beautification Corporation Chairperson M. Sugunamma to celebrate the city's impressive 'Swachh Survekshan' rankings in an event organised by the MCT.

YSRCP slams TDP-led govt. for curbing Jagan's Chittoor visit

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Wednesday (July 9, 2025) launched a scathing attack on the TDP-led coalition National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government, accusing it of deliberately attempting to sabotage Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's tour to Chittoor district, where he intended to interact with distressed mango farmers. YSRCP leaders, including former Minister Ambati Rambabu and SC Cell State president T.J.R. Sudhakar Babu, condemned what they described as 'state-sponsored harassment' and 'fear-driven restrictions' imposed by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's administration. Addressing a press conference on Wednesday (July 9), YSRCP leaders alleged that the NDA government was resorting to undemocratic measures to curb Jagan's public outreach. Mr. Babu criticised police actions in Bangarupalem, where Jagan was scheduled to meet mango farmers, noting that fuel stations were instructed not to provide fuel for YSRCP vehicles, and supporters were reportedly threatened with rowdy-sheets. 'This is not administration, this is dictatorship in disguise,' he said, accusing Mr. Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh of misusing police machinery for political gains. Contrasting the current regime with that of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, YSRCP leaders accused the TDP-led coalition of failing farmers, fostering illegal liquor and drug networks, and turning a blind eye to the Amaravati land scam. They challenged Chief Minister Naidu to a public debate on farmers' welfare and dared him to compare his track record with that of the previous YSRCP governments. 'If you have the courage, come face us in a debate and let the people judge,' Mr. Babu said. Mr. Rambabu came down heavily on Chittoor SP V.N. Manikanth Chandolu, accusing him of acting under political pressure from Mr. Lokesh and undermining the impartiality expected of an IPS officer. 'The police have become tools in the hands of the ruling coalition, and the fear of Mr. Jagan's popularity is driving these illegal restrictions,' he added.

Vizag sees dual protests: TDP targets media, YSRCP slams govt. on women's safety

The city witnessed a series of protests on Tuesday as both the ruling and the opposition parties took to the streets over separate issues. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) staged a protest rally condemning the derogatory remarks made by journalists during a televised debate on a channel owned by ex-CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's family. Meanwhile, the opposition YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) staged a protest alleging a rise in crimes against women in the State under the NDA government. Led by TDP city president, Gandi Babjee, the women's wing staged a protest at the party office. The protestors alleged that the YSRCP had no respect for women and farmers in the State. Raising slogans against Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his spouse, Y.S. Bharathi Reddy, the protestors demanded an apology from them. The Jana Sena Party (JSP) also organised protests at Pendurthi and a few other places. Meanwhile, the YSRCP women's wing staged a protest near the LIC building, alleging crimes against women have risen in the past year. They claimed that under the YSRCP government, the Disha app helped protect women. They alleged that the NDA government has failed in maintaining law and order in the State.
