Just before 2:30 p.m., Calgary police issued a statement about a single vehicle traffic incident involving a motorcycle at Crowchild Trail and Stoney Trail N.W. Police said both eastbound and southbound Stoney Trail from Crowchild is 'currently blocked to all traffic, while the traffic unit investigates.' Catastrophic engine failure causes cement truck fire on Glenmore: CFD
Fire investigators say a 'catastrophic engine failure' caused an explosion that led to a cement truck catching fire on Glenmore Trail early Wednesday. At around 6:45 a.m., calls came in after a cement truck was spotted on fire in the westbound lane of Glenmore near the southbound Deerfoot Trail exit. Police said the driver was able to get out safely and tried to extinguish the fire with his fire extinguisher, but it was too big a blaze to put out. No one was injured. Fire investigators said a catastrophic engine failure resulted in an explosion that led to shrapnel and debris being thrown across the road. It also caused the fire.

Police say a woman has suffered life-altering injuries in a two-vehicle crash in southeast Calgary, on Stoney Trail at Glenmore Trail. Police say a woman has suffered life-altering injuries in a two-vehicle crash in southeast Calgary. It happened Wednesday evening, just before 7 p.m., on Stoney Trail at Glenmore Trail. According to police, the vehicle the woman was driving struck a semi-trailer and her vehicle rolled over. She was extricated from her vehicle and taken to hospital.
