She first debuted the highly anticipated show at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on April 28 with 39 songs on the set list. She performed a total of five shows there on April 28, May 1, May 4, May 7 and May 9. The concerts proved to be groundbreaking spectacle filled with fashion, different music genres and most notably country music and politics. Here are some traditions fans should look out for as they arrive at Soldier Field. Beyoncé's team chooses 'Rodeo Queen' before the show A fun tradition that has taken shape ahead of Beyoncé's shows is her publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, selecting the best-dressed fan and crowning them 'rodeo queen' for a standout Western-inspired outfit. During the Los Angeles leg of the tour, Schure would stroll through the pit areas and choose a winner ahead of the show. And fans have been looking forward to this friendly competition each night. At the fifth and final show, Schure surprised the crowd by announcing that this time, the winner was chosen by none other than Blue Ivy Carter herself. Buckle up for Beyoncé's 'Ya Ya' performance During the Renaissance World Tour, there was the mute challenge. Now, during her "Cowboy Carter" era, Beyoncé's performance of 'Ya Ya' is emerging as a new standout that fans are eagerly anticipating each night. Mugler uploaded a video to its Instagram account, sharing the process of creating Queen Bey's stunning cowboy-themed outfit. The video shows designers cutting the fringe, making the belt buckle holes, and stitching the label to one of the pieces. Interspersed are photos of Beyoncé onstage in the outfit with her song, "Ya Ya," playing in the background. Her latest tour comes after she put out Act II of what is rumored to be a three-act trilogy album project that started with Renaissance in 2022. After she released that album, she embarked on a highly successful tour in 2023 and then released Cowboy Carter in 2024. The three-album trilogy is shaping up to be an in-depth analytical look at reclaiming different genres of music that were created and popularized by Black artists, but were later co-opted by white stars. The tour is also turning into a family affair. On night one, she brought out her daughters, 13-year-old Blue Ivy and Rumi, as she sang her song "Protector." Every song she performed for opening night is listed below, excluding video intros and interludes. Beyoncé took the stage on Monday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, to kick off her much-anticipated Cowboy Carter Tour. Beyoncé previously hit the road in 2023 for the Renaissance World Tour, which was also adapted into a blockbuster concert movie. The superstar's eighth solo album, "Cowboy Carter," was unveiled last year as the follow-up to " Renaissance" and the second installment in an ongoing trilogy that broadly examines genre, heritage, and legacy. It won over critics with its bold take on Nashville traditions and went on to win album of the year at the 2025 Grammy Awards in February, becoming Beyoncé's first win in the category. Beyoncé previously debuted live renditions of select "Cowboy Carter" tracks, including "16 Carriages," "Ya Ya," and "Texas Hold 'Em," during a livestreamed NFL halftime show on Christmas Day. Beyoncé brought the rodeo to Los Angeles on Monday for the opening night of her Cowboy Carter Tour, with a flying red convertible, mechanical bull riding, a prop big rig — and appearances by daughters Blue Ivy and Rumi Carter. Blue Ivy was back among the dance crew, hitting the stage for "Ya Ya," "Sweet Honey Buckiin'" and other songs alongside her mom at Inglewood's SoFi Stadium. The 13-year-old made her debut as a dancer at the Renaissance World Tour in 2023. This year, Rumi also made a guest appearance and joined Beyoncé and Blue Ivy on stage for "Protector." Video showed the 7-year-old smiling and waving at the crowd. One fan wrote in a post on X that it was the "best part of the show." Los Angeles kicked off night one of Beyoncé's tour. Parkwood Entertainment, a record label and entertainment company founded by the singer, said in a post on X early Tuesday morning that it was a sold-out show. Hours before the show, however, tickets remained up for grabs and dipped as low as $57.50. Beyoncé has four more shows in Los Angeles before moving on to Chicago. The tour wraps in July in Las Vegas. The album "Cowboy Carter" was released in March 2024 and features collaborations with Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Post Malone, Miley Cyrus, Shaboozey and others. It made history when it reached No. 1 on Top Country Albums, making the singer the first Black woman to ever lead the list, according to Billboard. At the Grammy Awards this year, she won album of the year, best country album, and best country duo performance with Miley Cyrus.

It's been about a year since Beyoncé dropped arguably her most ambitious album yet, and now she's bringing 'Cowboy Carter' to life. With a few pops of pyro and a strut down a catwalk in her white-fringed getup, Beyoncé kicked off her 32-date stadium tour April 28 at SoFi Stadium just outside of Los Angeles with 'American Requiem.' Beyoncé's five shows at the venue add to her record-breaking resume: She now holds the record for the most performances at the 70,000-capacity stadium, where she played three nights on her Renaissance World Tour in 2023. The opening night of Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter spectacle – the fifth all-stadium tour of her decorated career – drew heavily from her lauded album, with 19 of the 36 songs played during the 2 ¾-hour show coming from the career opus that won album of the year at this year's Grammys. Even in a concert with troops of dancers, cameos from daughters Blue Ivy and Rumi, a gilded horse and mechanical bull, Beyoncé warmly interacted with the packed stadium.
