Bahrain's U-20s flex firepower with 4-0 win as Gulf Cup prep continues in full swing
Bahrain's U-20 national team laid down an early marker in their Türkiye training camp, storming past Turkish side Golcukspor 1984 with a 4-0 win in their opening friendly on Monday night.
Goals Spread Across Lineup
Four different players found the back of the net — Abdulrahman Bassam, Yahya Adel, Mubarak Fawaz, and Abdulla Osama — reflecting a balanced attacking performance and a well-executed tactical approach under head coach Ali Aamer.
Camp With Purpose
The match was the first of several tune-ups for Bahrain as they prepare for the Gulf Cup U-20 2025, which kicks off later this month in Abha, Saudi Arabia. The camp runs through the third week of August and includes a 28-man squad.
Eyes on Abha
In the Gulf Cup's group stage, Bahrain will be up against Oman, Iraq, and Egypt in Group B. Group A, meanwhile, includes hosts Saudi Arabia along with Qatar, Kuwait, and Yemen. The tournament is organised by the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation and serves as a key proving ground for the region's next generation.
