By Downing 22 Drones, Yemen's Air Defenses Rattle U.S. & Turn Skies into Traps

Sana'a – SABA: Yahya Jarallah In a significant and troubling development for the American military, the number of U.S. MQ-9 armed reconnaissance drones shot down by Yemen's air defenses since the start of the campaign to support Gaza has risen to 22. The Yemeni Armed Forces announced last Tuesday that their air defenses successfully downed a hostile U.S. MQ-9 drone conducting aggressive missions over the coastal skies of Hajjah Governorate using a locally-made surface-to-air missile. This marked the seventh MQ-9 drone downed in April alone and the 22nd since the launch of the 'Promised Conquest and Sacred Jihad' campaign in support of the Palestinian people. The consistent downing of such a high number of advanced American surveillance drones in a short time reflects the remarkable progress of Yemen's air defense systems and their growing capability to counter some of the world's most sophisticated aerial vehicles—tools often deployed for espionage and offensive operations. Amid intensified American aggression targeting Yemeni civilians and infrastructure, these drones have become prime targets for Yemen's air defenses. Their downing holds significant military implications and marks a pivotal shift in the course of confrontation. In a speech last night, Revolution Leader Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi highlighted the progress of Yemen's air defense forces and their growing operational effectiveness, noting their success in downing three MQ-9 drones in just the past week over Sana'a, Al-Hudaydah, and Hajjah. This brings the total number of U.S. drones shot down to 22 since the beginning of Yemen's support operations for Gaza. Military experts assert that the ability to shoot down such drones using domestically produced missiles underscores Yemen's rapidly advancing defense capabilities. It also raises serious questions about the continued reliance of the U.S. on these drones and the viability of its ongoing military campaign against Yemen. The MQ-9 is one of the most advanced American unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), featuring sophisticated radar, high-resolution cameras, and sensors. Each unit costs approximately $30 million. Its missions range from surveillance and reconnaissance to executing precision strikes with guided bombs and missiles. It has a length of 11 meters, wingspan of 20 meters, a flight range of up to 3,000 kilometers, maximum altitude of 45,000 feet, and a top speed of around 300 km/h. The repeated downing of these drones illustrates a substantial leap in Yemen's defensive capabilities, sending a clear message to the U.S. that its skies are no longer open playgrounds for these high-tech aircraft, which are integral to its hostile operations in Yemen. This string of drone losses also poses a major challenge for the U.S., adding to its military embarrassments, already seen with its warships and aircraft carriers that were once symbols of dominance but have since been forced into retreat under pressure from Yemeni forces. This shift is changing how the world perceives American military power. Adding to this are the financial losses: with each MQ-9 valued at $30 million, the destruction of 22 units means the U.S. has incurred over $660 million in drone losses—on top of other enormous costs from its aggressive operations, depleting missile stockpiles, and expensive air sorties, all of which pose a real threat to America's economy and defense budget. Yemen's air defenses continue to undermine the enemy's strategy and effectively 'mine' the skies against its costly aircraft, which have failed to achieve any military success beyond bombing markets and residential neighborhoods, leaving devastation and civilian casualties in their wake—a testament to the U.S.'s military and strategic failures amid its inability to stop Yemen's operations against the Zionist entity and its blockade of Israeli and American shipping. U.S. officials, in statements reported by CNN, acknowledged that Yemen's success in shooting down American drones, deemed best-suited for the mission, has disrupted their shift to what they called the "second phase" of their military campaign against Yemen. They also admitted that Sanaa's forces have become more adept at targeting U.S. drones, and that the continued losses have significantly hampered efforts to destroy Yemen's military capabilities. On Tenth Anniversary of Aggression… Yemen Confronts America & Strikes Heart of Zionist Entity

Sana'a – SABA – Report by Yahya Jarallah As Yemen marks the tenth anniversary of the unjustified American-Saudi-Emirati aggression and blockade, the Yemeni people complete a decade under siege and bombardment—an aggression that has been the primary cause of the crises, suffering, and hardships that have affected all aspects of life in the country. Despite the devastation and destruction of Yemen's infrastructure and economy, and the denial of 30 million Yemenis of their right to basic goods and services, the aggression has failed to break the spirit of the Yemeni people or derail their path to liberation, which began on September 21, 2014. The True Purpose of the Aggression: Crushing the Revolution From Washington, the capital of evil and the source of global terrorism, the war criminals announced their brutal aggression against the Yemeni people on March 26, 2015, under false pretexts that had no basis in reality. It was never a secret that the primary objective of this aggression, spearheaded by Saudi Arabia and joined by over 17 nations, including the U.S. and the UK, was to crush the Yemeni revolution that had begun on September 21, 2014. Their goal was to subjugate Yemen once again, restoring it to the American-Saudi-Emirati sphere of influence, as it had been for decades. All the false slogans and deceitful justifications used by the coalition to launch this war were merely a cover-up for their true aim: - To kill Yemenis - Destroy and occupy their country - Eliminate their dream of freedom and independence - Prevent them from building a sovereign Yemeni state However, lies have short lifespans, and over the years, the truth has become clear. The coalition achieved nothing except: - Killing, impoverishing, and starving Yemenis - Occupying parts of Yemen - Plundering its resources - Wreaking havoc upon its land Yemen: An Indomitable Power Ten years of relentless bombing, destruction, and blockade have proven one undeniable fact: Yemen cannot be conquered. These years have also exposed the weakness of the aggressor nations, particularly Saudi Arabia, which believed it could: - Crush Yemen with mercenaries - Buy victory with billion-dollar arms deals - Win the war in a matter of days But the outcome was humiliating for them. Instead of achieving victory, they faced a resounding defeat, exposing their military incompetence and failed war strategy. The aggressors miscalculated badly—they thought Yemen would be an easy conquest, but they were met with unshakable resistance from a people who only submit to God Almighty. Achieving the Balance of Deterrence Contrary to expectations, the aggression and blockade strengthened Yemen's military capabilities, leading to: - Acquisition of advanced military expertise - Development of indigenous weapons production - Transition from a defensive stance to an offensive one - Possession of strategic deterrence weapons capable of striking deep into the aggressor states As a result, the Yemeni Armed Forces successfully defeated the coalition, and Yemen now has the capability to: - Strike any vital target within aggressor states - Regain full control over its territorial waters - End American-Israeli dominance over regional seas The coalition leaders never imagined that Yemen would reach this level of military strength. Now, after achieving a historic victory, Yemen is at the forefront of defending the Palestinian cause, engaging in direct confrontation with the U.S. and targeting the Zionist entity in support of Gaza. A Global Shock: Yemen's Role in Supporting Palestine Yemen has emerged as an unwavering pillar of support for Palestine, defying expectations by directly challenging the U.S. and Israel. It has not only confronted the Zionist entity but has also engaged in direct military confrontation with the U.S., despite its global naval supremacy. Observers and analysts worldwide have acknowledged that under the leadership of Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, Yemen has set an extraordinary example of courage and sacrifice, inspiring liberation movements across the region and beyond. America's Failure: A Desperate Attempt to Save Face Today, America continues its aggression by targeting Yemen's civilian infrastructure and economic facilities, but this is nothing more than a repetition of past failures. The U.S. will gain nothing from these desperate strikes, except further disgrace and defeat. The Yemeni people and global free nations view the American aggression against Yemen as clear evidence of Yemen's influence in supporting Palestine. Despite U.S. and Israeli efforts, they have failed to stop Yemen's strategic blockade of the Zionist entity or prevent direct strikes on its occupied territories. From a Dark Anniversary to a Day of Resilience Thanks to the heroic resistance of the Yemeni people, March 26 has transformed from a dark anniversary into a national day of resilience. It is now an occasion to honor the sacrifices made by Yemenis and to share their stories of triumph despite unimaginable suffering. From military advancements—including ballistic missiles, drones, and advanced defense systems, to economic self-sufficiency in agriculture and industry, Yemen has emerged as a pioneering model of defiance against global imperialism. Yemen: The Graveyard of Invaders For ten years, the Yemeni people have proven their unyielding resolve, drawing strength from their faith in God and their deep connection to their land. History has long known Yemen as "the graveyard of invaders," and this reality remains unchanged. Today, it is evident to all that the Saudi-Emirati-American-Zionist war on Yemen has failed miserably. The aggressors' dreams of subjugating Yemen have crumbled into dust. There is only one path forward for the aggressors: 1. Withdraw from Yemen 2. Lift the blockade 3. Pay reparations for the crimes and destruction they have committed Otherwise, they will continue to face more humiliation, defeats, and devastating losses at the hands of a Yemen that refuses to bow to tyranny. By Targeting Al-Rasool Al-Azam Hospital in Sa'ada… American Aggression Crushes Cancer Patients' Hopes & Their Right to Life

Sana'a – SABA – Yahya Jarallah In a horrific and fully-fledged war crime, the brutal American aggression deliberately targeted the Al-Rasool Al-Azam Cancer Hospital in Sa'ada, which was in its final construction phase and was set to become a vital medical facility and a treatment center for cancer patients in Sa'ada and neighboring governorates. This humanitarian project represented a beacon of hope for cancer patients, sparing them the hardship of traveling to Sana'a for treatment. It was also intended to ease the burden on cancer treatment centers in the capital and other governorates. However, in an act of sheer malice and inhumanity, the U.S. aggression deliberately destroyed this hope, exposing America's true face—a nation that falsely claims to champion human rights while committing some of the most heinous crimes against innocent people. 13 Airstrikes on a Cancer Hospital According to a statement from the Cancer Control Fund, the U.S. aggression targeted the hospital building with 13 airstrikes, causing massive destruction to key parts of the facility and catastrophic damage to its essential services. This premeditated attack was aimed at depriving hundreds of patients of vital treatment, at a time when Yemen's healthcare system is already in a dire state due to years of relentless aggression and systematic targeting of medical infrastructure. The statement emphasized that this crime is not an isolated incident but part of a systematic American policy that has targeted the Yemeni people for years through bombings and a suffocating blockade, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis and spreading deadly diseases, including cancer, which has surged due to the use of internationally banned weapons since 2015. The U.S.: The Real Terrorist State While the United States falsely claims to be fighting terrorism, it is the primary perpetrator of terror, spreading death and destruction with its banned weapons. The long-term exposure of Yemenis to radioactive and toxic materials from U.S. airstrikes has led to a sharp rise in cancer cases. Now, after depriving Yemenis of life's most basic necessities, the U.S. is trying to shut the last door of hope for cancer patients by targeting the only hospital that could provide them with treatment. Blatant Lies to Justify a War Crime Adding to the American disgrace are the blatant lies and fabricated justifications used to cover up this atrocious crime. Former U.S. President Donald Trump falsely claimed that the strikes targeted "bases threatening maritime navigation." However, the undeniable reality is that the attacks struck civilian sites and a medical facility dedicated to cancer patients, in a flagrant violation of international law and humanitarian treaties. With this crime, the new U.S. administration reaffirms its criminal policy of blurring the line between victim and aggressor, persistently working to exterminate civilians, as evidenced by its crimes in Yemen and Palestine. A War Crime Under International Law Under international humanitarian law and the International Court of Justice, the targeting of this hospital constitutes a full-fledged war crime under Article 8(2)(b) and 8(2)(b)1, which classify attacks on civilians and civilian objects as serious violations of international law. Additionally, Article 8(2)(b)2 explicitly criminalizes the deliberate targeting of medical facilities, making this crime subject to immediate international prosecution. A Call to Action Against Genocide Following this atrocity, the Cancer Control Fund called on the international community, human rights organizations, Islamic nations, and all free people of the world to take a firm stance against this barbaric aggression and to urgently intervene to stop these ongoing crimes, which mirror the genocide committed by the U.S. and Israel in the region. The fund emphasized that this aggression clearly demonstrates that the United States is executing an agenda aligned with Zionist interests, as these crimes coincide with the brutal escalation against Gaza and the ongoing massacres of civilians in the occupied territories. The silence of the international community and human rights organizations in the face of this horrific crime amounts to direct complicity with the American aggression. Failure to take immediate action makes these entities partners in the crimes against the Yemeni people. Urgent Appeal to the United Nations and Global Organizations In its statement, the fund called on the United Nations, the World Health Organization, human rights organizations, Islamic nations, and global advocates of justice to take a decisive stance against this blatant aggression and to pressure the United States to halt its repeated crimes against civilians and patients in Yemen. Despite this unjust aggression, the fund reaffirmed its commitment to continuing its humanitarian mission to provide care and treatment for cancer patients, regardless of the immense challenges and ongoing attacks. At the same time, it stressed that these crimes will never be forgotten, and those responsible will be held accountable sooner or later. A Vital Project Destroyed The Al-Rasool Al-Azam Cancer Hospital was one of the most crucial humanitarian projects designed to alleviate the suffering of cancer patients in Saada and surrounding areas. It would have spared patients the hardship of traveling to Sana'a for treatment, providing life-saving medical care closer to home. The project, which was being constructed by the Public Authority for Roads and Bridges within Al-Hussein Medical City in Saada, had a budget of $7.567 million (equivalent to 1.011 billion Yemeni riyals) funded by the Cancer Control Fund. Spanning 4,803.9 square meters, the hospital was designed with five interconnected blocks, consisting of a basement and three floors, reaching a height of 13 meters. The deliberate destruction of this vital hospital is yet another clear indication of the U.S.'s war on Yemen's right to life, revealing its unwavering commitment to genocide and systematic oppression.
