Wasit Council boosts community ties with 'Yalsatna' initiative
The initiative seeks to listen to their opinions, feedback, and suggestions regarding ways to develop their residential area, in line with the department's policy of supporting active community participation and its vision of reinforcing a culture of effective communication with residents and strengthening the bonds of social closeness. Wide Participation and Constructive Dialogue The initiative, which took place, on Tuesday, at the council's headquarters, witnessed wide participation from residents who expressed their views with transparency. A number of constructive comments were recorded and immediately forwarded to the relevant authorities for follow-up and necessary action. Model of Active Community Participation The 'Yalsatna' initiative, organided by the Wasit Suburb Council and regularly implemented by other suburb councils, aims to serve as a model in promoting effective community participation. It brings together residents and council representatives in a friendly environment that fosters the exchange of visions and ideas, thereby reinforcing the concept of partnership between community members and the entities responsible for planning and services. In Line with the Vision of the Ruler of Sharjah This active community engagement aligns with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, which aim to empower councils to play their vital role in supporting social cohesion and achieving sustainable development in residential neighborhoods. This is achieved by building a balanced and integrated relationship between the community and government entities. Showcasing Tangible Achievements During the session, the Wasit Suburb Council was keen to showcase a set of achievements previously implemented in the suburb in response to earlier resident demands—reflecting the council's seriousness and commitment to transforming feedback into tangible actions with direct impact on residents' lives. Commitment to Direct Engagement His Excellency Abdullah Saeed Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Wasit Suburb Council, emphasised that the 'Yalsatna' initiative embodies the general direction adopted by the Sharjah Districts Affairs Department—based on direct engagement with community members and positive interaction with their aspirations. He noted that the council prioritises fostering a culture of dialogue and consultation with residents, believing that neighbourhood development can only be complete through the participation of its people.

"Yalsatna" enhances communication in Dibba Al Hisn
The event saw the notable participation of directors of government departments and institutions in Dibba Al Hisn, along with residents. Opening channels with the community The initiative, which was organised yesterday evening, aimed to continue opening direct channels of communication with the community and listen to comments and suggestions that reflect the aspirations of Dibba Al Hisn residents regarding public services and facilities in the city. The session was attended by Dr. Salah Obaid Al Ghoul Al Salami, Chairman of Dibba Al Hisn City Council; and Ahmed Abdullah bin Yarouf, Chairman of the Municipal Council. Residents voices transformed into practical steps In his opening remarks, Dr. Salah Al Ghoul Al Salami emphasised that the initiative comes within the framework of enhancing effective communication with citizens, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, in line with the directives of the wise leadership, which urge attention to the needs of residents and listening to their opinions. In order to achieve sustainable development and improve services. His Excellency Dr. Salah Obaid Al Ghoul pointed out that the primary goal of the "Yalsatna" initiative is to transform the voices of residents into practical steps on the ground. He emphasised that the Council strives to serve as a link between residents and relevant authorities. Enhancing transparency Al Ghoul explained that the Council has distributed an electronic link that allows residents to record their comments and suggestions in advance, ensuring that they are appropriately presented and discussed during the session. This enhances transparency and provides greater opportunity for everyone to participate, even those who were unable to attend. The meeting saw active discussions and a fruitful exchange of ideas between officials and residents. The attending government department directors responded positively to all contributions and provided comprehensive explanations of current and future plans to improve the quality of life in the city.

'Yalsatna' provides residents with the opportunity to meet, communicate and exchange congratulations on the holy month, reflecting the spirit of the cohesive Emirati society. Strengthening community ties The initiative comes as an extension of the Council's approach to strengthening community ties and enhancing its social role in bringing together the suburb's members on various occasions. The initiative confirms the Council role as a host for events that enhance the values of solidarity and social cohesion, in line with SDAD message in supporting the social fabric and spreading a spirit of familiarity among the suburb's residents. The Council welcomed a meeting that brought together His Excellency Khalfan Saeed Al Marri, Chairman of Al Khalidiya Suburb Council, and members of the Council and employees, citizens and visitors, where everyone exchanged congratulations and greetings, stressing the importance of these meetings that consolidate the values of communication and compassion that characterise the holy month, and enhance the spirit of brotherhood among the people of the suburb. Imams' role in promoting tolerant Islamic values As part of the Council's interest in communicating with various segments of society, the Chairman of the Council extended his congratulations to the mosques' imams during their reception at the Council's headquarters on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, welcoming their presence at the Council, and praising their efforts in raising awareness and promoting tolerant Islamic values. Al Marri stressed their pivotal role in establishing the spirit of tolerance and brotherhood, and reviving the atmosphere of the holy month with its lofty meanings in strengthening community cohesion, and supporting the values on which the Emirati societal identity is based.
