Motorcyclist, 20, injured in collision with SUV
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 21-year-old woman was hospitalized after crashing her motorcycle into an SUV in the Valencia Park neighborhood on Friday, authorities said.
The crash happened around 3 p.m. as the motorcyclist was exiting a driveway on the 300 block of 54th Street, according to the San Diego Police Department. She was riding a Yamaha YZF-R3 and attempted to make a left turn onto southbound 54th Street.

Police say the rider failed to properly navigate the turn and struck the rear left corner of a Chevy Trailblazer that was stopped in traffic at a red light near Imperial Avenue. The SUV was driven by a 41-year-old man who was not injured in the crash.
Emergency responders transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital for treatment of a fractured femur. Authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
