Zain Bahrain Backs Climate Youth : WEF-led hub joins drive

TDT | Manama Zain Bahrain is betting on the power of youth to reshape the nation's sustainability future. In a new partnership with the Global Shapers Manama Hub, the telecom giant is backing youth-led environmental and social impact projects aimed at empowering a new generation of Bahraini changemakers. The Global Shapers initiative, affiliated with the World Economic Forum (WEF), brings together young leaders to take action on pressing challenges in their communities. The Manama Hub, which leads these efforts in Bahrain, will now collaborate with Zain Bahrain to roll out new programmes combining future skills training, sustainability education, and civic engagement. Local Impact Zain Bahrain described the tie-up as a step towards activating youth to lead climate-focused initiatives with real-world impact. 'Zain Bahrain is proud to partner with Global Shapers Manama Hub to engage Bahraini youth in impactful environmental initiatives,' said Fatema Haider, Senior Manager of Corporate Sustainability, Inclusivity, and Culture at Zain Bahrain. 'We believe in supporting communities through knowledge sharing, leadership development, purpose-driven contribution, and active participation in building a sustainable future,' she added. The collaboration aims to raise awareness of key community challenges, promote environmental stewardship, and equip young Bahrainis with the tools to lead on societal change. Shared Vision For the Manama Hub, the partnership represents an opportunity to deepen its role in building future-ready talent. 'We are proud to collaborate with Zain Bahrain on strategic youth-focused initiatives – spanning sustainability, innovation, and future skills development,' said Curator Yara Abdulhameed. Zain Bahrain has been investing in social responsibility initiatives aligned with national development goals. The company's move to partner with a WEF-backed youth network underscores its focus on long-term transformation through community-based leadership. This initiative signals a broader trend among Bahraini firms embracing youth-led action as a lever for climate resilience, innovation, and inclusive progress.
