Yarallah Inspects Umm Qasr Naval Base and Conducts Tour of Territorial Waters
The Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, conducted an inspection visit to Umm Qasr Naval Base on Monday and carried out a tour of Iraq's territorial waters.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Defense, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), 'The Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General of Special Forces Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, accompanied by his delegation, visited Umm Qasr Naval Base, where he was received by the base commander and senior staff officers. A cartographic briefing was later presented, outlining the demarcation of borders, assigned tasks, and measures in place to secure the territorial boundaries.'
The statement added, 'General Yarallah conducted a tour aboard warships belonging to the Naval Forces Command, which are tasked with support and logistical operations, the provisioning of naval units, and the protection of Iraqi ports.'
