Former Kansas City Chiefs players earn 2025 All-UFL team honors
The list of former Kansas City Chiefs players in the UFL making strides continues to grow with the latest announcement of the 2025 All-UFL teams. Yasir Durant was an undrafted free agent after the 2020 NFL Draft but joined Kansas City as a rookie, playing in 11 games with one start. After moving on to multiple teams following the season, Durant eventually joined the UFL in 2024. As a member of the DC Defenders, he has started every game and displayed versatility playing every position on the offensive line except for center. DeAndre Baker was a former first-round pick of the New York Giants in 2019. Still, disappointing play and off-field distractions led to his release during the 2020 season, after which he eventually joined Kansas City's practice squad. He appeared in just ten games for the Chiefs over two seasons, tallying 21 tackles, a sack, and two passes defensed. Since joining the DC Defenders in 2024, he's found success this season, finishing with 19 tackles and three interceptions. Four teams remain as the playoffs get underway this weekend, and the UFL championship game is set for June 14th at the Dome at America's Center in St. Louis. Former Patriots OL Yasir Durant Wins UFL Championship
Former Patriots OL Yasir Durant Wins UFL Championship originally appeared on Athlon Sports. On Saturday night, the D.C. Defenders of the United Football League (UFL) won one of the most lopsided spring football championship games in recent memory, defeating the Michigan Panthers 58-34 in The Dome at America's Center in St. Louis. Advertisement Among the players who got an opportunity to hoist the championship trophy and celebrate in the locker room was Yasir Durant, a former New England Patriots offensive lineman who has been a consistent starter for the Defenders since joining the team in 2024. In his debut season with the Defenders, Durant started 10 games and played every position on the offensive line but center. The team as a whole did not garner much success, though, as it went 4-6 and missed the postseason for the first time in franchise history. Durant also had a strong individual year, landing a spot on the All-UFL Team as an offensive tackle. He also spent time with the Patriots, New Orleans Saints, and Denver Broncos over a four-year NFL career. Durant is credited with making 19 total appearances in the NFL – 11 with the Chiefs in 2020, seven with the Patriots in 2021, and one with the Saints in 2022. He started two of those contests.
