Pikala Summer Cycling Tour Empowers Bikers Across Morocco
Rabat – The Moroccan association Pikala completed the second edition of Pikala on Tour this summer, bringing together cyclists from different backgrounds to explore Morocco on two wheels.
Since 2016, Pikala has introduced thousands of people, including Moroccans, tourists, children, and adults, to the joy of cycling under its motto 'Cycle for Morocco,' says the association in a press release.
The tour aimed to promote bicycle tourism, encourage a healthy lifestyle, and inspire young people to challenge themselves while discovering the country's landscapes. It also promoted environmental awareness and the importance of sustainable tourism.
This year featured two separate adventures. Boys on Tour, from July 31 to August 6, was a challenging coastal ride from El Jadida to Agadir, while Girls on Tour, from July 31 to August 3, covered 200 km from El Jadida to Rabat. The women's ride was led by solo traveler and filmmaker Yasmina Ahl Maris, with seven young women aged 20 to 30 joining the journey.
The Girls on Tour route included stops in Sidi Rahal, Casablanca, and Bouznika, before ending with a public closing event on August 3 at Lazar Game in Harhoura. The event featured a screening of Yasmina's documentary 'Cycling Solo Across Morocco.'
Both groups were supported by a chef, coordinators, and a safety vehicle. Daily vlogs, short videos, and an aftermovie documented the journeys, reaching thousands of viewers online.

'Pikala on Tour is an invitation to explore Morocco in new ways, to take on challenges, reconnect with nature, and believe in your own capacity,' she concluded. Tags: AgadirCyclingMoroccopikala
