Moroccan Athletes Dominate Road Races in Dubai Tournament
Rabat – Moroccan athletes ran to glory in almost every category in road races held Saturday at the 12th Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament, in Dubai.
In the men's 10-kilometer race, Moroccan runner Yasser El Chachaoui claimed first place with an impressive time of 27 minutes and 21 seconds. Also, Mohamed Aït Mamas and Ismail El Kharchi completed a clean sweep of the podium for Morocco.
Moroccan women showed their exceptional talent in the competition, with Rokaya Moukaim crossing the finish line first at 34 minutes and 37 seconds.
Moroccan prowess also made its mark in the 5-kilometer races, with Amine Souida securing first place in the men's event with a time of 14 minutes and 45 seconds. Emirati Hamid Al Moualla led his national competitors with a time of 15 minutes and 41 seconds.
In the women's 5k, Polish athlete Emilia Mangilinane took top honors at 22 minutes and 11 seconds, while Hessa Al Jassmi won the Emirati women's race with a time of 23 minutes and 48 seconds.
French competitors excelled in the seniors and residents category (5 km), with Jean-Claude Haramburi winning the men's division in 16 minutes and 58 seconds, while his fellow Latifa Saroukh won the women's race in 25 minutes and 33 seconds.
The prestigious event, hosted at Dubai's Meydan Racecourse, attracted 4,300 runners from various nationalities, demonstrating the tournament's growing international appeal.
The tournament continues to grow as a premier sporting event in Dubai, putting on display both international talent and local athletic development.
