MUSCAT, JULY 27 The fifth round of the 2025 Youth Hockey League continues on Monday (today), with three anticipated, the Oman Hockey Stadium in Al Amaret will host a match between Ahli Sidab and Al Salam, in a clash where both teams aim to secure the three points to improve their positions on the standings. At the same time, the hockey field at Sohar Sports Complex will witness a strong encounter between Masirah and Seeb. Meanwhile, the third match will take place at the Sultan Qaboos Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah, where Al Ittihad will face Salalah in a game expected to be filled with competitiveness and excitement. AL NAHDA AND AL SALAM SHARE POINTS The fourth round of the league produced several notable results, most notably the 1-1 draw between Al Nahda and Al Salam at the Sohar Sports Complex hockey field. The match was fiercely contested from the first quarter, especially since the two teams had previously drawn in their third-round encounter, adding a competitive edge to the match. Al Nahda nearly opened the scoring with a well-organised attack led by Yassin al Alawi, but Al Salam's defence intervened just in time. Mohamed al Raisi responded for Al Salam with a dangerous attempt that was blocked by Al Nahda's defence, and the first quarter ended in a goalless draw. In the second quarter, both teams continued to share control of the match, but a lack of precision in the final touch prevented any goals, keeping the score 0-0 at halftime. The breakthrough came in the third quarter when Mansour al Raisi scored the opening goal for Al Nahda from a swift counterattack, exploiting a gap in the defence. The game's intensity rose as Al Salam tried to equalise, while Al Nahda relied on counterattacks that nearly produced a second goal, but luck was not on their side. In the final quarter, Al Salam came out with a strong attacking intent and managed to equalise through a well-placed shot by Naif al Maamari inside the penalty area. Both teams pushed for a winning goal in the closing minutes, but the match ended in a 1-1 draw, marked by excitement and balance until the final whistle. SEEB CRUSH SAHAM 7-0 In another match of the same round, Seeb achieved a dominant 7-0 victory over Saham at the Seeb Club hockey field. Seeb controlled the game from the outset, with Fahad bin Khamis al Balushi opening the scoring in the sixth minute, followed just two minutes later by a second goal from Mohammed bin Abdullah al Shibli, capitalising on a quick counterattack. Saham tried to reduce the deficit through Majid al Maamari, but Seeb's defence remained alert, and the first quarter ended 2-0. In the second quarter, Saham continued their attacking attempts but failed to create real danger. Seeb responded through Al Waleed al Raisi, who scored the third goal from a penalty corner. With Saham's performance declining, Seeb took advantage and added a fourth goal through Hassan Darwish al Balushi in the 24th minute, ending the quarter 4-0.
