The body of a woman in her twenties was found stuffed inside a suitcase in Ghaziabad's Loni border area early Tuesday morning, the police said, adding that they are yet to identify her. The police received information about the body at around 7.30 am through the police control room, Ajay Kumar Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Ankur Vihar, Ghaziabad, revealed. 'The suitcase was found on the canal road that goes from Behta Hajipur to Bandhla,' ACP Singh said. 'The police reached the spot along with the field unit. In a similar incident on May 30, the Hapur police in Uttar Pradesh had found the body of a 23-year-old woman, Neelesh, a resident of Delhi's Trilokpuri, stuffed inside a suitcase. Delhi woman's body found in suitcase in UP's Hapur, friend arrested in murder case
Last week, an unidentified body of a 24-year-old woman was found stuffed inside a suitcase in Uttar Pradesh's Hapur district. On Friday, police arrested her 29-year-old friend for allegedly killing her. According to police, the accused has been identified as Satendra Yadav, a resident of Delhi's Vinod Nagar, who worked with a private real estate company in the Capital. Police claimed that they have also recovered the woman's bank passbook, Aadhaar card, two mobile phones, and a car from Yadav's possession. On May 30, the Hapur Police had recovered the body of the woman, Neelesh, stuffed inside a suitcase, near a canal in Sikheda village under the jurisdiction of Pilkhuwa police station limits. 'The woman was a resident of Trilokpuri in Delhi,' said Station House Officer, Pilkhuwa, Patniash Kumar. 'Her body was discovered in a decomposed state with visible marks indicating strangulation. During questioning, Yadav told the police that they had been in a relationship for over three years. Neelesh, who worked with a private firm, had given Yadav Rs 5.25 lakh during their relationship. Around October last year, she got to know that she had been suffering from a kidney ailment and was admitted to Delhi's Dharamshila hospital,' the SHO told The Indian Express. 'Yadav used to meet Neelesh at the hospital regularly. However, tensions developed in their relationship last year when Yadav took a trip to Patiala… and he suspected Neelesh of being involved with someone else. He claimed that her phone was frequently busy [when he would call her] and attempts [by him] to check it were blocked by a phone lock,' Kumar said. According to the police statement, Yadav claimed that Neelesh visited his room on May 28 to demand her money. But, police said, he lost his temper and allegedly strangled her using her scarf. 'He then stuffed her body into a suitcase, which he had in his room. Later that night, he drove to the Sikheda canal road, a route he frequently used to avoid toll taxes, and dumped the suitcase,' a police officer said. 'We recovered the vehicle used in the crime, along with documents, a mobile phone, and other evidence. CCTV footage also supports the sequence of events described by the accused,' Superintendent of Police, Hapur, Kunwar Gyananjay Singh said. Police said they have lodged a case under sections of murder against Yadav. Singh said that a chargesheet will be filed soon. Neetika Jha is a trainee reporter with The Indian Express, Delhi. SUV hits man, flinging him into drain in Noida; police launch probe as video goes viral
A Mahindra Thar SUV rammed into a man, sending him flying into a roadside drain in Noida's Sector 53 on Monday, the police said Tuesday, adding that they have registered a case and are trying to trace the accused. The incident, a video of which has gone viral, appeared to be the fallout of an online spat. 'On Monday, a scuffle occurred between two groups near Sector 53, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Sector 24 police station,' said Sumit Kumar Shukla, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), Noida. 'A video also went viral in which one party rammed the other with their vehicle. When we investigated, we found that the dispute between the two parties happened over some comments on Instagram,' the ADCP stated. Both groups are familiar with each other, he said. In a purported video of the incident, a man who is bleeding through his nose can be seen walking alone on the streets when a black Thar hits him from behind and sends him flying into the empty drain. The man, identified as Saurabh, 24, said he had gone to meet a friend in Noida along with his younger brother. 'My friend had called me saying that a group of men had been misbehaving with him. When we reached there, I realised that these were the same men who had earlier filed a case against us which was quashed over lack of evidence.' 'They soon started attacking us with sticks, rods and knives. They hit me with the Thar twice,' he alleged. The Sector 24 police have registered a case for rash driving, causing hurt, and criminal intimidation. 'We have sent the injured people for a medical examination and have formed three teams to nab the accused and take the vehicle into possession,' Shukla said. The police are trying to identify the accused and arrests will be made soon, the ADCP added. Neetika Jha is a trainee reporter with The Indian Express, Delhi. Noida: Man arrested for assaulting, forcing youth with special needs to eat chillies
A 35-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly assaulting and mistreating a youth with special needs in Noida, police said. 'We arrested Shubham Saxena, a Shahjahanpur resident, after an FIR was registered against him on Monday,' said Anuj Kumar Saini, Station House Officer (SHO) of Sector 49 police station. The youth is autistic, he added. Saini said the father of the youth had installed a CCTV camera in his son's room in April. 'In the CCTV camera footage, Saxena, who used to teach the youth, could be seen pinching and forcing him to eat chillies… He could also be seen giving him certain medicines,' he added. The incident came to light on April 24, when the father, a businessman, checked the CCTV footage of his son's room. In a police complaint filed on Monday, the father alleged that Saxena had been teaching his son social skills for the last two years. 'My son cannot talk. So, I hired Saxena two years ago,' he told the police. 'On April 24, when I checked the recording, I found out that he had been hitting my son. He had been pressing a pen between his two fingers, forcing him to open his mouth… forcing him to eat foreign substances,' the father alleged in his complaint. 'I doubt he has been doing this with my son for the last two years. Please take action against him,' he added. This is the second such incident in the recent past when a specially-abled person was found being assaulted in Noida. On March 29, the police had booked four persons, including the principal, the vice-principal, and a teacher of a private school for special children, for allegedly hurting and assaulting a 10-year-old student. The school, said police, has since been sealed after it was found to be unauthorised. The teacher, meanwhile, has been arrested. Neetika Jha is a trainee reporter with The Indian Express, Delhi.
