The body of a woman in her twenties was found stuffed inside a suitcase in Ghaziabad's Loni border area early Tuesday morning, the police said, adding that they are yet to identify her.
The police received information about the body at around 7.30 am through the police control room, Ajay Kumar Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Ankur Vihar, Ghaziabad, revealed.
'The suitcase was found on the canal road that goes from Behta Hajipur to Bandhla,' ACP Singh said. 'The police reached the spot along with the field unit. First, we collected all the necessary evidence from the spot and then opened the suitcase. Inside the suitcase, we found the body of a woman, who is approximately 25 years old, wearing vermilion and toe rings. It appears that the woman is a Hindu,' he added.
The police said they have sent the body for a post-mortem examination and are working to identify the woman. 'We will soon find out the reason for her death and nab the accused,' said Singh.
In a similar incident on May 30, the Hapur police in Uttar Pradesh had found the body of a 23-year-old woman, Neelesh, a resident of Delhi's Trilokpuri, stuffed inside a suitcase. The police had later arrested her friend, Satendra Yadav, for allegedly strangling her with her scarf and then stuffing her body inside the suitcase.

2 journalists held for blackmail, and extortion: Noida Police

Noida Police Tuesday said they arrested two journalists for allegedly blackmailing a news channel's owner and extorting money from him. A senior police officer told The Indian Express, 'The accused had extorted Rs 2.26 crore from the owner of the news channel by blackmailing and threatening to implicate him in a false case if he did not pay the remaining amount (Rs 62.74 crore). Three separate cases have been registered against them (based on complaints) by the channel's officials.' Police produced the duo before the Gautam Buddha Nagar District Court in the afternoon. They were sent to 15-day judicial custody. The complainant, Jagdish Chandra (75), owner of Bharat24 in Noida's Sector 62, alleged that the woman, Shazia Nisar, had been 'threatening to implicate' him in a 'false rape case' unless he paid her Rs 65 crore. Adarsh Jha — who used to work for a digital portal till a few days ago — has been 'helping' her, he claimed. The FIR reads: 'Shazia Nisar, 30, has been working as an anchor in my channel since 2022. She has been blackmailing me by threatening to implicate me in a false rape case and commit suicide. She has been illegally demanding Rs 60 crore from me. In the last year, she has taken Rs 2 crore 26 lakh through cheques several times. I have evidence of this (transaction). Adarsh Jha… is helping her blackmail me.' When contacted, Chandra said, 'She (Nisar) is a blackmailer. The law of the land will take its course. Her services have been terminated.' The officer quoted above said, 'Apart from the complaint filed by the channel owner, two more complaints were filed by the channel's consulting editor Anita Hada and HR head Anushri Dhar.' Officers from Noida's Sector 58 police station raided Nisar's home — she lives in Delhi — on Monday and arrested her. Police claimed that Rs 34.50 lakh in cash, three mobile phones, two laptops, and a Scorpio car were seized from her home. Police, simultaneously, raided Jha's home at Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, and arrested him. Chandra approached the police on June 8. His channel executives — Hada and Dhar — filed their complaints against Nisar on June 9. Hada said allegations of harassment made by Nisar were incorrect. 'Had that been the case, she would have filed a complaint against him… I would have supported her,'' she emphasised. Asked why they didn't approach the police earlier instead of paying her, she said, 'We were worried that this would harm the reputation of the company. According to police, Chandra, who is also Chief Editor and Chief Executive Officer of Bharat24, also filed a complaint against Nisar's mother. She has not been arrested, police said. Police have booked Nisar, her mother and Jha for extortion Station House Officer, Sector 58, Noida, Amit Kumar said 'We took them into custody on Monday'. 'When asked about the money in her account, she (Nisar) did not have a proper explanation for it… it was a compensation, she told us. We produced them before the court today,' said Kumar. Woman's body found stuffed inside suitcase in Ghaziabad, probe on, say police

The body of a 25-year-old woman was found stuffed inside a suitcase in Ghaziabad's Loni border area early on Tuesday morning, police said. 'The suitcase was found on the canal road that goes from Behta Hajipur to Banthla,' said Ajay Kumar Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ankur Vihar, Ghaziabad. Police said they received the information around 7:30 am at the control room. A team then reached the spot along with the field unit, said the ACP. 'First, we collected all the necessary evidence from the spot and then opened the suitcase. Inside the suitcase, we found the body of a woman, aged around 25, wearing vermilion and toe rings,' the ACP added. Singh said they have sent the body for a post-mortem. 'We are making all necessary efforts to identify the woman. We will soon nab the accused,' he added. A senior police officer, part of the investigation, said blood oozing out of her nose appeared fresh, indicating she was killed in the late hours of Monday. Since there were no wounds on the body of the woman, the officer said, she could have been suffocated to death or poisoned. 'The exact cause would be clear after the post-mortem. We have formed four teams. Of the two, four are scanning the CCTV footage of the area while two are working to identify her,' the officer said. Body of unidentified woman found in suitcase in Ghaziabad

The body of an unidentified woman, stuffed inside a suitcase, was found near a canal in an isolated area close to Loni Border in Ghaziabad on Tuesday morning, police said. A case of murder has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Loni Border police station, and an investigation is underway, they added. Police received a call around 7.45am after some labourers noticed a suitcase tied with bedsheets and partially open, revealing a human body part. 'Early in the morning, some labourers passing by spotted a suitcase tied with bedsheets. When they approached it, they noticed a small part of the bag was open and a body part was visible, following which they alerted the police on 112,' said assistant commissioner of police (Ankur Vihar) Ajay Kumar Singh. The woman, suspected to be around 25 years old and married, was wearing black pants and a blue top, police said. 'The body was forcefully stuffed inside the bag, due to which some bones were suspected to be broken. Apart from bleeding from the nose, no superficial injuries were spotted,' Singh said. According to police, it is suspected that the body was dumped on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday along the route between Behta Hazipur and Bandhala. Police have sent the body for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. 'No documents were recovered from her possession. CCTV footage from the area is being scanned to identify the suspect,' said Singh. He added that no CCTV camera was installed at the dump site, so nearby footage is being reviewed to trace the vehicle involved. 'Police stations in Ghaziabad and surrounding districts have been alerted to check missing person reports. We have also printed several pamphlets describing the woman's appearance and circulated them on social media platforms,' Singh said.
