When Aditya Pancholi spoke about how he fell in love with Kangana Ranaut despite being married to Zarina Wahab; claims he gave her Rs 55 lakh to buy a house

Aditya Pancholi, known for roles in films like 'Dayavaan' and 'Bajirao Mastani,' faced controversy due to his personal life. Despite being married to Zarina Wahab, his relationship with Kangana Ranaut became a focal point. Kangana accused Pancholi of physical abuse, recounting a painful chapter that began when she was 17. Aditya Pancholi comes from a film family that owned Pancholi Arts, once the largest studio in pre-partition Lahore. He began his acting career with the TV show Shahadat in 1985 and rose to fame with Dayavaan in 1988. Over the years, he played key roles in films like Yes Boss, Hameshaa, Baaghi, Race 2, Jai Ho, and Bajirao Mastani. However, his personal life often made more headlines than his film career. A Married Man Linked With Many Actresses The actor is married to former actress Zarina Wahab , and the couple has two children — Sooraj Pancholi and Sana Pancholi. Despite being married, Aditya has often been linked to several Bollywood actresses. Among these, his relationship with Kangana Ranaut drew the most attention. The controversy escalated when Kangana accused him of physical abuse. Living Together & Financial Support When Kangana Ranaut entered the film industry, her relationship with Aditya Pancholi quickly became a hot topic. Despite being married, Aditya reportedly fell in love with Kangana, and the two even began living together. In a 2008 interview with Mumbai Mirror, Aditya claimed he gave her Rs 55 lakh in cash to help her buy a house. Aditya Recalls How It All Began Aditya also spoke about how his relationship with Kangana Ranaut began, describing it as close as that of a husband and wife. He claimed he was building a house for the two of them on Yari Road and that they lived together for three years at a friend's home. Recalling their first meeting, Aditya said he saw her on the road one rainy day when she approached him and introduced herself. He remembered that a mutual friend had once asked him to help her when she arrived in Mumbai. According to him, Kangana kept calling him until he finally agreed to meet. At the time, he said she was a sweet small-town girl, and he eventually fell in love with her. In the same interview, the actor also opened up about a troubling phase in his relationship with Kangana Ranaut. He claimed that during the shooting of Shakalaka Boom Boom, he discovered flirtatious messages sent by her to another actor. Aditya admitted that the messages upset him deeply, especially because she had used similar words with him in the past. He confessed that this led to a violent outburst — the first time he hit her. Despite the fight, he said they eventually made up afterward. Kangana's Painful Account of Abuse Kangana, meanwhile, has openly spoken about the trauma she faced during her relationship with Aditya Pancholi. She has described it as an abusive and painful chapter in her life, which began when she was just 17. Kangana once revealed that Aditya had physically assaulted her so badly that she was left bleeding, and she often tried to escape his control. She also shared that he would stalk her constantly. Hoping for support, Kangana approached Aditya's wife, Zarina Wahab, believing she might help her out of the situation. However, she was disappointed when Zarina not only refused to help but also denied that there was any romantic relationship between Kangana and Aditya. Juhi Chawla recalls strained equation with Shah Rukh Khan after their production company folded; says kids Janhvi, Arjun ‘bawled' when KKR lost

Apart from starring in blockbusters like Darr, Yes Boss, Duplicate, and more, Juhi Chawla and Shah Rukh Khan are also co-owners of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Although KKR has won three IPL trophies since the tournament's inception 17 years ago, the team had a rough start and performed poorly during the initial years. In an earlier interaction, Juhi shared that her kids — Arjun Mehta and Jhanvi Mehta — would often cry during those early IPL seasons as their team frequently finished at the bottom of the table. Speaking to Rajeev Masand in an old interview, Juhi said, 'Those were trying times when during first initial years, KKR would come at the bottom of the list and my kids would cry saying, 'What is this team you have?' And they would go to the Dhirubhai Ambani International School and it wasn't easy for them.' Dhirubhai Ambani International School is owned by the Ambani family — who also own Mumbai Indians, KKR's rival team. In addition to acting in many iconic films, Shah Rukh and Juhi also ventured into film production in 1999 by launching their own banner, Dreamz Unlimited, alongside director Aziz Mirza. However, after producing three films — Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Asoka, and Chalte Chalte — the production house eventually shut down. In the same conversation, Juhi explained the reason behind its closure and also reflected on the tense period when she and Shah Rukh did not speak after Dreamz Unlimited came to an end. She said, 'We made Ashoka that won a lot of critical acclaim but didn't do well at box office. Then they started Chalte Chalte. I was helping behind-the-scene but then I was expecting at that time and I had to go away and I was in London for a lot of the time. They made the film. After that…I don't know why. Then Aziz Mirza lost his wife and was heart broken and then, I don't know why, but we didn't make more films in Dreamz because we needed Aziz ji to come up with more scripts.' Speaking about how the end of the production company impacted her relationship with Shah Rukh, Juhi said, 'At that time my work changed and my family was growing, I was moving in another direction. Earlier, we were on set together and then you work behind-the-scene but later you are further away from each other. Also, my nature of work changed, I was suddenly started doing films like 3 Deewarein, My Brother…Nikhil, Jhankaar Beats and others.'

Shah Rukh Khan dreamt of buying Mannat for Gauri Khan, says director Aziz Mirza

There is a shot featuring Shah Rukh Khan in his famous song Chaand Taare from the 1997 film Yes Boss, in which he sings in front of the house that he now owns – Mannat. Director Aziz Mishra recollected in an interview with Radio Nasha when the actor pointed the house out years later in 2001 and told him he had bought it. (Also Read: Aishwarya Rai shot Chalte Chalte for a day, director Aziz Mirza recalls why Rani Mukerji replaced her) When it was pointed out that Mannat was featured in Chaand Taare even before Shah Rukh bought it, Yes Boss director Aziz said, 'Yes, he was staying at my house in Devdoot back then, which is a few meters away from Mannat. He and Gauri were so young, you know how people say a lot of things in their youth. So whenever they crossed Mannat, Shah Rukh must've pointed out and said, one day he'll buy her the house. Life is good, and fortunate that he made it a reality, I think about that sometimes.' He also recollected how, years later, when they were shooting at Cafe Seaside, Shah Rukh had pointed out the house to him and told him he'd bought it. 'I remember we were shooting a song at Cafe Seaside and he told me, Aziz, I've bought that house. You could see it from the cafe. I congratulated him. But later, he went through issues due to the municipality. Life is all about the ups and downs. He faced issues, but thankfully, it's all well now. I hope he lives happily in that house with his family,' said Aziz. Shah Rukh acquired Mannat in 2001; before that, Nariman Dubash, a Bai Khorshed Bhanu Sanjana Trust trustee, owned it. The Khans recently moved out of their home to allow major home renovations. They shifted to a luxurious apartment building in the Pali Hill area of Bandra, where they will reside for approximately two years. Shah Rukh will soon star in Siddharth Anand's King, which will also star his daughter Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan.

Shah Rukh Khan's promise to wife Gauri costed him crores, legal issues - but he still turned it into reality

Shah Rukh Khan 's mansion, Mannat, is an iconic landmark in Mumbai, attracting fans from across the globe. However, before it became a symbol of his success, Mannat was simply a dream—a promise that Shah Rukh made to his wife, Gauri Khan, during the early years of their marriage. #Pahalgam Terrorist Attack India stares at a 'water bomb' threat as it freezes Indus Treaty India readies short, mid & long-term Indus River plans Shehbaz Sharif calls India's stand "worn-out narrative" The Early Days: A Dream in the Making In the late 90s, Shah Rukh Khan, still on his way to stardom, would often take walks along Bandstand with Gauri, dreaming about their future. During one of these strolls, he stopped in front of a grand villa, which was then owned by the Bai Khorshed Bhanu Sanjana Trust. Shah Rukh, deeply in love with the house, made a promise to Gauri that he would own it one day. Aziz Mirza, director of the 1997 film Yes Boss, remembers those days vividly in an interview with Radio Nasha . 'Shah Rukh was staying at my house, which was very close to Mannat. He and Gauri were young and full of dreams. I remember they would take walks, and I'm sure during one of those walks, Shah Rukh promised Gauri that he would buy that house someday,' Mirza shared in an interview with Radio Nasha. He faced many challenges, including complex legal procedures and issues with neighboring properties. Despite these obstacles, Shah Rukh persevered and, in 2001, managed to purchase the villa, which he later renamed Mannat. 'I clearly remember, once while shooting near Café Seaside, he pointed towards Mannat and told me, 'Aziz, I've bought that house,'' Mirza recalled. The purchase, which Shah Rukh finalized for approximately Rs 13.01 crore, was the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. A Name That Symbolizes a Dream Initially, Shah Rukh and Gauri named their new home Jannat, meaning "paradise," reflecting the dreamlike nature of their achievement. However, in 2005, they changed the name to Mannat, which translates to "a heartfelt wish or blessing." This name perfectly encapsulated the journey from a distant dream to a tangible reality. Today, Mannat stands as a symbol of Shah Rukh Khan's determination and success. The mansion is estimated to be worth over Rs 200 crore and has become a pilgrimage site for his fans. Visitors from all over the world gather outside the gates, hoping for a glimpse of the superstar. Currently, Shah Rukh and Gauri have temporarily moved to a luxury apartment complex in Bandra to allow for extensive renovations at Mannat. The couple has leased two duplex apartments, spending Rs 24 lakh per month in rent—approximately Rs 2.9 crore per year—while the renovations take place. Challenges Along the Way The journey to Mannat wasn't without its difficulties. After purchasing the property, Shah Rukh and Gauri poured all their savings into renovations, trying to bring their dream home to life. In an interview during the launch event for Gauri Khan's book My Life in Design, Shah Rukh humorously shared the challenges they faced in designing the house. 'We managed to buy Mannat, but then we had to rebuild it because it was kind of broken. We didn't have the money to furnish it… Eventually, I asked Gauri to become the designer of the house,' Shah Rukh recalled.
