Channel 4 confirms Si King's 'first major solo project' after Hairy Bikers co-star Dave Myers' death - and it's worlds away from beloved cooking show

Si King 's 'first major solo project' following on from his Hairy Bikers co-star Dave Myers ' death has been revealed - and it's worlds away from their beloved cooking show. Dave died on 28 February 2024 at the age of 66, two years after he announced he was receiving treatment for cancer in May 2022. The celebrity chefs were known as the Hairy Bikers from the early 2000s and presented a number of TV shows which included their passion for cooking and motorbikes. Now, over a year on from his loss, Si has landed another telly show. This time he will be presenting a four-part series on More4 called Top Of The Stops, which will see the star have a look around some of the most 'unusual' train stations in the UK. Si will be joined by historian Siddy Holloway and architect Damion Burrows. Dave (pictured) died on 28 February 2024 at the age of 66, two years after he announced he was receiving treatment for cancer in May 2022. Fans will be happy to know that they won't have long to wait until Si is back on their screens - as it will premiere later this year. The show will be produced by Yeti Productions. Channel 4's official press release states: 'In his first series for Channel 4, Si will meet the people that keep these vital structures ticking and operating at their best. 'From the people who keep the trains and stations running to those who work to serve their passengers.' It adds: 'Alongside two experts, transport historian Siddy Holloway and architect Damion Burrows, Si will learn why these utilitarian buildings are so special as each episode tells a story of British history, industry and community. 'The series will follow Si as he discovers the structural feats that everyday commuters might miss. 'From city to coast, where the waves crash just metres away, the TV star will find out surprising and revelatory facts as he calls into each station.' Clemency Green, who is Channel 4's senior commissioning editor for lifestyle, said: 'As the rail network turns 200 years old, this series will spotlight the best of our country's engineering history in a different way. 'We're honoured Si will be presenting his first series for More4, and Yeti will no doubt deliver a captivating series that viewers will love to escape into.' Anna Davies, who is executive producer at Yeti Television, added: 'There's something uniquely British about our love of railways – but usually it's the trains, not the stations, that get the limelight. 'There are so many amazing stories to be uncovered in stations big and small, with unique characters who run them and incredible history, and Si is the perfect person to be taking us on that journey. It'll be Si's first appearance on telly since last year's The Hairy Bikers: You'll Never Walk Alone, which was described as an 'emotional ride', which Si celebrated the life of his best pal Dave. The TV show celebrated the duo's legacy in new one-off BBC that aired before Christmas. Earlier this month Dave's widow revealed the 'pain and suffering' hidden from his final Hairy Bikers TV series that she 'cant bring herself to watch'. Dave battled cancer while continuing to work alongside Si, though kept details of his cancer extremely private. As his wife Liliana Orzac, 57, continues to grieve, she's told fans how the BBC are planning to rerun his final episodes as part of the Hairy Bikers. The series, titled The Hairy Bikers Go West, was filmed in 2023 and aired in February 2024 - the same month of Dave's death. In a poignant post on her Facebook account, Liliana told fans: 'Heads up... BBC have been in touch to say they have planned in a repeat run of the 7-episode series 'The Hairy Bikers Go West' from Tuesday, July 15 July at 7pm. 'This is Dave's last series, filmed while he was in treatment... the one I couldn't bring my self to watch.' While Dave looked visibly unwell in the show, Liliana continued to tell fans about the effort he put into filming, despite the 'pain' and 'suffering' he endured. She said: 'For many reasons, this series is heartbreaking for me to watch, as I know how unwell he was and what a superhuman effort he made to finish the series. 'But also, I'll never forget the look on his face once filming was done. He knew it would be his last... my brave man!'
