Hundreds of damaged houses in northeast Nigeria flood: authorities

MAIDUGURI (AFP)Torrential rains sparked intense floods and damaged hundreds of homes in the northeast Nigerian town of Potiskum, emergency authorities and a local resident told AFP on Yobe State Emergency Management Agency said more than 200 houses were damaged, while a local civil servant estimated 500 houses were severely hit following the overnight rains.
No deaths were reported.
