1 2 3 4 Varanasi: UP govt will offer free e-commerce training to 150 women entrepreneurs associated with the ' One District One Product ' (ODOP) initiative and train them in basic knowledge of online trading, onboarding, branding, digital marketing and accessing national and international markets. Assistant commissioner of the District Industries Promotion and Entrepreneurship Development Centre, Vinod Verma, said a private company Yuki will provide two-day training to over 150 women entrepreneurs associated with Varanasi's ODOP from Monday. Of these, around 25% are women and the annual turnover of products is Rs 1,500 crore. After gaining international recognition for ODOP, Yogi govt is now set to train women entrepreneurs to access international markets. The assistant commissioner mentioned that women entrepreneurs linked to Varanasi's ODOP products, such as Banarasi silk, pink enamelling, lacquerware and wooden toys (all three products included in GI), will receive training. Yuki is a South Indian organisation that works for uplift and empowerment of women. Regarding the annual trade of Varanasi's ODOP products, GI expert Dr Rajnikant said Banarasi silk, pink enamelling, lacquerware and wooden toys rake in revenue of about Rs 1,600 crore. Over 100,000 artisans are associated with this industry, with 20-25% being women. The annual export of these three products is approximately 30%.
