Revanth Reddy shares Telangana's role in $30 trillion Indian economy by 2047 at NITI Aayog meeting

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy laid out a visionary roadmap of State's role in India's journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047 and its role in a $30 Trillion economy India was looking to achieve. Addressing the Governing Council of NITI Aayog in New Delhi on Saturday (May 24, 2025), he shared the vision of Telangana through a series of initiatives taken up by his Government, and sought continued support under the framework of cooperative federalism. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Ministers from across the country. Emphasising the interconnected destiny of India's states, he presented 'Telangana Rising 2047' as an aspirational contribution to Viksit Bharat. He explained Telangana's resolve to be among the first states to achieve a $1 trillion economy, well ahead of national timeline. He said with its history of doubling GSDP every six years, Telangana now targets a fivefold expansion within the current decade. With Hyderabad contributing nearly 2.5% to the national GDP, Telangana aims to raise its share to 8% by 2047, aspiring to a GSDP of $2.4 trillion. 'Though we comprise just 2.9% of India's population, our ambition is to lead with innovation, productivity and inclusive growth,' he said. CM Reddy highlighted 'Bharat Future City', a 14,000-acre Net-Zero smart city aimed at housing 15 lakh residents and creating 7.5 lakh jobs. The city will feature innovation zones in AI, life sciences, EVs, and data technology, linked by expressways and metro network. Telangana is aggressively expanding its digital ecosystem beyond Hyderabad through nine operational IT Towers and digital inclusion programmes like T-Fiber, he said. On the green front, the State targets 40 GW renewable capacity by 2035, with over 1,000 EV charging stations already active and a 100% road tax waiver for electric vehicles to boost adoption. Citing its influence on national policy, including the Central Government's move toward a caste census, he referred to the caste survey and enacted legislation granting 42% reservations for Backward Classes in education and jobs, as well as political representation in local bodies. Editorial | Planning better: On the NITI Aayog The Chief Minister explained the ₹20,616 crore farm loan waiver benefiting over 25 lakh farmers and other initiatives in agriculture. Generating income for women through 1,000 MW of solar capacity through women's self-help groups, Young India Skill University and Rajiv Yuva Vikasam were other ideas shared by him. He also spoke of 60,000 government jobs and 1 lakh private jobs were filled in one year. The Chief Minister paid tributes to India's security forces, reiterating Telangana's unwavering support for Operation Sindoor. He also invoked the legacy of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, whose leadership during the 1971 war was hailed as exemplary and reflective of India's capabilities.

State emerging as hub for GCCs, EVs, data centres: Telangana CM Revanth

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday asserted that Telangana was rapidly emerging as a hub for global capability centres (GCCs), electric vehicles (EVs) and data centres. Addressing the closing session of Bharat Summit 2025, the chief minister urged delegates to become 'Brand Ambassadors of Telangana Rising'. He said: 'Our work has just begun. We have much more to do. I invite all of you to please join this mission to transform lives positively. Use your experience, knowledge, skills to share the Telangana Rising story and provide us inputs to do even better.' He emphasised that the government was balancing investment needs, job creation, economic growth, welfare and environment for good governance. 'Our approach is simple — increase government revenue and share it with the poor,' he added. Criticising the previous administration, Revanth said, 'For 10 years, the dreams and aspirations of the people were not fulfilled.' He outlined the Congress government's 'simple mantra' — to fulfil the dreams of every section of society, especially students and youth, farmers, women, and oppressed castes. He highlighted several major welfare schemes have been launched by the government, including crop loan waiver, Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Athmeeya Bharosa, bonus for super fine quality paddy, Rajiv Yuva Vikasam, free bus rides for women, Indiramma Housing Scheme, and free electricity up to 200 units, in addition to the establishment of Young India Skill University. Revanth pointed out that while students played a leading role in the Telangana agitation, their education and employment opportunities were neglected. 'There were no government job recruitments or notifications. After we took charge, we have filled over 60,000 government jobs within the first year. We also launched Rajiv Yuva Vikasam to fund the startup dreams of 5 lakh youth,' he said. Revanth reiterated that education, healthcare and employment were the government's top priorities. 'Welfare implementation, infrastructure development, attracting investments, ensuring transparent governance and eliminating corruption are the hallmarks of our administration,' he stated, adding, 'We are already seeing results.' Emphasising the empowerment of women entrepreneurs, the chief minister said, 'We aim to create 10 million women business successes and see them grow into millionaires. The government has enabled women to own solar power plants, operate electric RTC buses, run petrol bunks and manage shops in premium retail spaces. Today, women entrepreneurs are competing with Adani, Ambani and other major corporations,' he said, referencing businesses at Shilparamam and other locations. As part of the Indiramma Indlu scheme, he noted that the government allocated `22,000 crore to help 4.5 lakh families build their own homes within the first year. Speaking on environmental initiatives, the chief minister announced the rejuvenation of the Musi river. 'Water is the lifeline of civilisation,' he said. 'We are cleaning and reviving the 55-km stretch of the Musi, protecting nature, securing drinking water for the city, and reducing pollution.' Drawing inspiration from global riverfront projects like the Hudson river in New York, the Thames in London, and the Sumida in Tokyo, he said, 'Musi will become the biggest attraction of our city and create thousands of new jobs.'
