Local museum admission free for active duty family members
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A local museum is offering free admission for active military families until this fall.
The Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor on West Wood Street announced that they are participating in this year's national Blue Star Program, which offers free admission to active-duty military personnel, including the National Guard and Reserves, and their families, to select museums.
On average, more than 2,000 museums participate, including nature centers, zoos, and children's museums.
Qualified members must show a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card for entrance into a participating Blue Star Museum.
Free admission runs until Labor Day, which is September 1.
The Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor is open Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.
