US rapper shot dead in his residence, probe underway

A Georgia-based rapper, Tevin Hood, better known as T-Hood, was shot dead at his residence in the Snellville locality. According to a TMZ report, the shooting took place after a dispute between the parties in the area. The Gwinnett County police are currently investigating the case as a homicide. However, the motive behind the attack remains unclear. Following the attack, the rapper was provided medical service by the first responders and then was transported to the local area hospital, where he succumbed to the injuries, the report added. One has been arrested in connection with the shooting and is being interviewed by the police. T-Hood's mother, Yulanda, confirmed to TMZ that her son was shot at the residence, where he lived. She also denied that a party was going on at the time. Well-known in the Southern rap scene, T-Hood's musical credits include songs like 'Ready 2 Go,' 'No Secret,' and 'Perculator.' He also received the Trendsetter of the Year award at the Black Only Awards 2025. The 33-year-old was active on social media last week, as he shared a fun video on his Instagram handle. Many of his fans and supporters flooded the comment section with condolences and prayers, and some even found it difficult to believe the tragic news. T-Hood's partner, Kelsie Frost, the daughter of reality star Kirk Frost, also mourned the rapper's demise. T-Hood and Deedotwill have collaborated multiple times in the past.

Tevin Hood, a Georgia-based rapper better known as T-Hood, has died at 33 following a shooting at his home. Gwinnett County police responded to reports of a shooting that occurred during a dispute at a residence in unincorporated Snellville on Friday, per TMZ. First responders arrived promptly, providing emergency aid before transporting Hood to a nearby hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries while at the hospital. Authorities have detained one individual connected to the incident and are conducting interviews as part of an ongoing homicide investigation. Hood's mother, Yulanda, confirmed her son was the victim and denied that a party was happening at the home during the shooting. T-Hood was known in the Southern rap scene for songs like READY 2 GO, Big Booty, and Perculator. He last posted on Instagram about a week ago. 'We was just on the phone all day I cant believe you are gone,' his music producer Deddotwill wrote on Instagram. 'REST IN PEACE T-HOOD I LOVE YOU BROTHER.' Just weeks before his death, Tevin shared a comedic video on Instagram on July 21, where he appeared dressed as a ghost in a cemetery for his track Grave Diggerz. In the video, the rapper wore a white sheet with red paint around the eye holes, mimicking blood. He joked, 'Hello, are you still alive? We are dead down at the cemetery. come down to the cemetery I have a spot for you,' while laughing. He continued with a darkly humorous invite: 'All you have to do it die. Just die today. You die today you get to come and play - come on down.' Since the post, fans have poured into the comments, expressing sorrow with remarks like, 'this one didn't age well,' as they honor the late hip-hop artist. 'I just woke up to the news man I do not want to believe it,' one follower wrote under his most recent social media update. Another added, 'They always take the best ones, your light was too mofo bright for this lame a** world.' A third fan vowed, 'We never gon stop pushing your legacy.'
