KUALA PILAH: An immigration officer pleaded not guilty at the Magistrate's Court today to robbing a Pakistani national of cash, a mobile phone, and other valuables in Rembau. Mohd Nazrul Md Yassin, 38, entered the plea after the charge was read before Magistrate Yusna Khadijah Md Yusop. He is accused of robbing the victim of a mobile phone, a passport, RM440 in cash, and an e-wallet balance of RM210. The alleged robbery took place at 6.10pm on July 11 in Kampung Miku Pindah. The charge, under Section 392 of the Penal Code, carries a maximum prison sentence of 14 years, with the possibility of a fine or caning upon conviction. The court denied bail and set Aug 14 for mention at the Kuala Pilah Sessions Court. Deputy Public Prosecutor Goh Hsiao Tung appeared for the prosecution, while the accused was unrepresented.

Mohd Nazrul Md Yasin, 38, claimed trial after the charge was read to him before Magistrate Yusna Khadijah Md Yusop on Monday (Aug 11). He was charged with robbing Khan Qasim, a Pakistani national, of his mobile phone, passport, RM440 in cash, and RM210 in the alleged victim's e-wallet. He is accused of committing the offence along a road in Kg Miku Pindah, Rembau, at 6.10pm on July 11. Nazrul was charged under Section 392 of the Penal Code for robbery, which carries a jail term of up to 14 years and a fine or caning if convicted. Deputy public prosecutor Goh Hsiao Tung then asked the court for a mention date at the Sessions Court. The court then fixed the mention date for Thursday (Aug 14). No bail was allowed.
