A vacant home in St. James is slated for demolition following a fire early Saturday.
Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews were called to the 100 block of Douglas Park Road at around 3 a.m. The two-and-a-half-storey home was fully engulfed in flames and smoke when firefighters arrived.
According to a news release, WFPS crews used aerial ladders and hand lines to put out the blaze.
The city said the house sustained severe damage from fire, smoke and water. An emergency demolition is being arranged due to structural concerns.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
