Cement truck, motorcycle involved in injury crash in Lebanon
An injury crash on Wednesday resulted in the intersection of N. Castle Heights Ave. and E. Baddour Pkwy. to be closed for nearly an hour. The accident occurred just before afternoon school traffic, which had to be diverted around the busy Lebanon intersection. Around 2:45 p.m., Lebanon Police were dispatched to the intersection after 911 received calls about a collision between a Nashville Ready Mix cement truck and a Ryker motorcycle. The Ryker motorcycle, a model with one rear wheel and two front wheels, sustained damage and the driver was transported to Vanderbilt Wilson. According to LPD Public Information Officer Zach Patton, the injuries are severe, but unknown if they are life-threatening yet. The roadway was reopened after officers investigated the scene around 3:50 p.m.

Middle Tennessee law enforcement make final preps before the snow arrives
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — TDOT and road crews have used the last couple of days to pretreat and prepare for the incoming snow, but what are law enforcement doing to prepare? Middle Tennessee is a large region that's expected to see a wide range of snowfall Tuesday night into Wednesday, but everyone is expected to see impacts on travel. This has prompted police departments and sheriff's offices from all over Middle Tennessee to increase staffing starting Tuesday night. According to Zach Patton with the Lebanon Police Department, they are increasing the units in the field along with dispatchers to handle the extra calls. 📧 Have breaking news come to you: → In Cheatham County where they are expected to see higher totals, the sheriff's office is spreading out their patrol units so they can respond quickly to anywhere in the county. 'We have units that are going to be strategically placed throughout the county so they're able to go out to calls as needed. We have personnel that have four-wheel drive capabilities. All those guys are on standby so they can respond,' Cheatham County Lieutenant Shannon Heflin told News 2. Heflin said if you have to venture out Tuesday night or tomorrow, to avoid routes with large hills, because he says that's where the most slide-offs occur. ⏩ The Metro Nashville Police Department said they plan on helping folks get into warming centers before the cold fully settles in.
