It's time to start preparing for the 2025 Syracuse Orange football season. We're going through the roster to take a look at each Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 2 of the Fran Brown Era.

Position: Offensive Line

Weight: 320 lbs.
Hometown: Lynchburg, VA
High School/Previous College: Liberty Christian Academy/North Carolina
2024 stats: Appeared in all 12 games for the Tar Heels with most of his snaps on special teams. Saw limited action at guard the last two seasons in Chapel Hill
2025 projections: Rice should be competing for a spot on the Orange offensive line. If he's not starting, he should be a backup this fall and will likely be in on kick protection units. While he didn't live up to his recruiting hype at UNC, perhaps a fresh start will unlock that potential.
How'd he get here?: Committed to Syracuse in late Aprils after deciding to leave UNC.
What'd recruiting sites say?: Three stars from the major recruiting sites as a transfer, but going back to his high school days, Rice was a 5-star and top tackle in the 2022 class. He had offers from Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Georgia among others.
