Former Republican congressman Zach Wamp says next-generation nuclear energy is happening 'very fast' in the United States. The US President has been signing executive orders to fast-track nuclear power plants. 'The next five years, the number one issue relative to the US economy is going to be energy and can we create enough electricity to keep up with the demand,' Mr Wamp told Sky News Australia. 'That's going to be a signature issue of this administration because we may actually have a lot of small modular reactors operating by the time President Trump leaves office.'
