‘Anyone could have been killed': Wanted teen leads Williamson County deputies on high-speed chase

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Deputies in Williamson County chased an 18-year-old wanted out of Georgia after he allegedly stalked and harassed a Spring Hill woman. According to officials, the incident began after the Spring Hill Police Department requested assistance from the Williamson County Sheriff's Office to find a young man, later identified as 18-year-old Baker Zahar of Atlanta, Georgia. Bodycam video obtained by News 2 shows the moments deputies chased Zahar along I-840 West on Friday, May 2 as he drove at speeds of up to 125 miles per hour in a Honda Civic. Suspected serial killer convicted of 1991 murder in Spring Hill At one point, video captured a deputy spike the vehicle's tires. Within minutes, the tires began to shred near the Goose Creek Bypass. Authorities reported that's when Zahar went off the roadway and crashed. As seen on video, Zahar got out of the vehicle and ran away as a deputy chased behind him. 'That is just insane, anyone could have been killed,' said WSCO Captain Becky Coyle. 'This is the kind of stuff we got to put a stop to.' A deputy reportedly tracked the 18-year-old to a wood line, where he was found hiding in a thorny thicket and claimed to have a bomb. When the deputy instructed Zahar to show his hands, the 18-year-old ran deeper into the darkness instead. Officials said the teen was found minutes later in a Goose Creek neighborhood. Zahar was then taken into custody at gunpoint. The 18-year-old allegedly told deputies that he lived in the area. While sitting in the back of the squad car, he then asked law enforcement why they were being so nice to him. ⏩ 'It's a clear example of how well Williamson County deputies work together,' added Coyle. 'If you are looking to do crime, don't come to Williamson County. Their training is excellent and they are going to find you.' Zahar was charged with multiple felonies, including aggravated stalking, evading arrest, theft of property, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and speeding. Booking records show he is being held in Williamson County Jail on a $750,000 bond. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Rolls-Royce Cullinan Rented, Then Used As Bank Robbery Getaway Car

Flashy getaway cars are usually the stuff of movies, but according to a report from Fox 2 Detroit, someone in Michigan paid $1,750 per day to rent a Rolls-Royce Cullinan — and then used the super-luxury SUV in a string of bank robberies, eventually leading police on a chase before abandoning the vehicle. The Rolls-Royce was rented from Dream Luxury Car Rentals in Southfield, Michigan last week for the cost of $1750 per day, according to the local news outlet; shortly after the SUV was rented, a crime spree began, with the Rolls-Royce being used in several robberies at banks in Oakland, Wayne and Macomb counties. Fox 2 Detroit says police eventually spotted the driver of the Cullinan and began a pursuit, with the suspect eventually ditching the SUV and fleeing on foot. Police are reportedly still searching for the suspect, and the investigation has been turned over to the FBI; the Cullinan has been recovered, but suffered approximately $15,000 in damages... which, on a vehicle like this, probably amounts to a scuffed wheel. But Sam Zahar, owner of Dream Luxury Car Rentals, told Fox 2 Detroit that he only discovered what his Rolls-Royce had been up to when he saw a video from local news of a Cullinan being towed — a Cullinan that Zahar said he immediately recognized as his own. As it turns out, this reportedly is not the first time Zahar has found his vehicles in this type of situation: a couple of months ago, he says, someone rented a car from him and used it to rob a mail truck. Despite this, Zahar seems to have a good attitude about the luck of his business: even though his vehicles have occasionally wound up connected to crimes. 'We put a lot of smiles on peoples faces," a smiling Zahar said to Fox 2 Detroit. Pricey Rolls Royce rental used in several Metro Detroit bank robberies

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (FOX 2) - It was a highly expensive rental that was used to commit theft in southeast Michigan. That is what happened when a one-of-a-kind Rolls-Royce was rented and used in a string of thefts, and the owner was unaware. The backstory Sam Zahar is the owner of Southfield's Dream Luxury Car Rental, where this week, a customer rented a Rolls-Royce for $1,750 per day. That was when the theft spree started as the suspect traversed Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb Counties, robbing banks along the way. The case is in the hands of the feds, so it's unclear how many thefts the Rolls and the renter are tied to. What they're saying Zahar didn't even know it was going on, as he only found out while scrolling through his phone, seeing a video on Metro Detroit news. "This is my car," he said. "I got a screenshot and I tried to, that's my car. I was about probably four detectives by my house driving around thinking I stole the bank because the car is under my name." The driver led police on a chase, then bailed and ran on the city's east side Wednesday night. Police were able to recover the SUV with about $15,000 in damages, with the driver on the run. Dig deeper This was, unfortunately, not the first time this had happened to Zahar, as a few months prior someone rented a car from him, then robbed a mail truck after some renters took a G-Wagon for a joyride. Most recently, a $300,000 vehicle was likely stolen during transport from Miami to Detroit. The Source FOX 2 talked with the owner of Dream Luxury Car Rental.
