Terrifying child abduction attempt in Genting?

Police confirmed that they were looking into the widely circulated post which claimed a kidnapping attempt had occurred. Bentong district police chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar SHAH ALAM - A video of an alleged attempted child abduction in Genting Highlands went on social media on Monday, prompting an investigation by the police. Police confirmed that they were looking into the widely circulated post which began spreading around 8.30pm which claimed a kidnapping attempt had occurred. Bentong district police chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar said based on the police's initial findings, no formal police report regarding the incident has been received as of June 10. "The police are requesting the owner of the TikTok account @awiegerbangmalam to come forward to the Bentong district police headquarters to assist with the investigation into this incident. "Anyone who has experienced a similar situation is urged to come to the nearest police station and lodge an official report first," he said in the statement. Photo for illustrative purposes only. The incident gained traction after a Facebook user shared her personal account online, describing a deeply unsettling experience involving her two children aged seven and four, who were almost taken by a suspicious woman. She believed that the suspects may have thought that her children were alone or unsupervised. "From what I observed, there were at least two people involved, possibly more. But I clearly noticed three individuals. One man was watching from a higher level, even recording, though he did not seem to have a child with him. His appearance did not resemble that of a local either. "Shortly after, I noticed a woman probably of Burmese (Myanmar) descent wearing child-friendly clothing decorated with flowers, teddy bears and hearts. She was interacting with my two children, carrying them and jumping around playfully. Something about the situation just didn't feel right," she wrote in a Facebook post. Concerned by the woman's unusually intense focus on her children and the sense that she might suddenly leave with them, the Facebook user immediately informed her husband about the situation. She said she continued to keep an eye on the woman and eventually spotted her near the outer exit with the children. "My husband was already there at the game area close to the exit, observing if our children would follow her out. Then, as if waiting for the right moment, the woman put on her shoes while still being watched by the man above. "My children even started putting on their shoes to leave with her. Thankfully, my husband intervened just in time," she added. The user claimed that the woman left the scene immediately after realising they were being watched. She then went outside trying to find and confront the woman, but she had vanished. She added that her husband observed the woman touching their children's heads and feet, almost as if inspecting them. "This experience has shaken us. You really cannot let your guard down, not even in a place like Genting Highlands. It is not as safe as it seems," she said. As of now, the police were still investigating the matter and no arrests have been made.

[Watch] Three Riders Go Down On Karak Highway, No Casualties

Subscribe to our FREE When the weekend comes along, the long and winding stretch of the Kuala Lumpur – Karak Highway becomes a playground for recreational motorists. As a friendly reminder, public roads are not race tracks and irresponsible behaviour such as speeding and reckless driving is a sure fire way to turn a nice weekend road trip into a hot, bloody mess of a road accident. Bad road conditions such as potholes, oil slicks, and sand also add to the risk of a crash when driving or riding at high speeds. High-powered motorcycles meet asphalt On Sunday (27 April), a video shot from a motorcycle rider's helmet-mounted camera went viral on social media. In the beginning of the video, a motorcycle can be seen leaning deep into a corner at KM 43.4 eastbound of the Kuala Lumpur – Karak Highway. A few seconds into the lean, the bike lowsides and falls over, sliding along the road and onto the grass on the left shoulder of the highway, with the rider falling into a drain. The biker capturing the footage immediately stopped in the emergency lane to go check on the fallen rider, but a second bike falls over at the same spot, sliding towards the cameraman and missing him by mere inches. Just when he thought it was over, a third bike comes sliding towards him and misses him by a hair's width, and the rider can be seen tumbling and sliding across the road and into the side barrier of the highway. The first rider who crashed could be seen clutching his wrist and saying 'patah'. Police are searching for two motorcyclists involved in the crash According to a 'Investigations found that the accident occured at 9.45am when the motorcycle involved lost control, slid, and crashed into a drain on the left shoulder of the highway,' said Bentong district police chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar in a statement. 'A rider who was found informed that he had an injured right leg, while another two motorcyclists are unreachable,' he added. The Bentong Police Headquarters (IPD) Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division are currently searching for the two motorcycle riders involved to assist in the investigation. 'Police have opened an investigation and the case is being investigated under Section 343 of the Road Transport Act 1987,' Zaiham said. He also urged witnesses of the incident to cooperate and come forward to assist authorities with the investigation, while warning the public that strict action will be taken against road users who use the Karak highway as a race track.
