(Video) Fan Requests KATSEYE Members To Sign Her Sanitary Pad During Event
Getting an autograph from your idol is an experience that not everyone can have. Most netizens would bring books, posters, items of clothing or something personally important to them to events where they have the opportunity to meet their favourite star. But what happens when you forget to bring something to a signing? 'Urban Outfitters' previously launched their 'OU: Haul' event campaign that aimed to support Gen Z with the important moment of their lives back in college. With the event, they hosted a city-wide scavenger hunt. The selected winners are invited to witness a performance of the girl group KATSEYE on 20th May (Tuesday) and 21st May (Wednesday). After the performance, netizens were given the chance to meet the girl group in person. One of the attending Eyekons (KATSEYE's fans) reportedly didn't have anything on hand for the idols to sign, so she offered a sanitary pad she had with her instead. The members were initially surprised by the unusual request but soon found it amusing, sharing a laugh with the fan and her friends. The members readily signed the pad while casually chatting with other Eyekons. Later, when the fan crossed paths with another member on the way out, the incident was shared with the group, and upon recognising the fan, the member added her signature to the pad as well. When the Eyekon shared the interaction on Twitter, many netizens found it hilarious, praising the fan's boldness for requesting something so unconventional at a signing event. Calling the situation 'Peak Girlhood' because of the reactions that everyone had to the pads being used, calling the fan an 'icon', and overall being supportive with how everything played out. While having a fan ask their idol to sign their pad for them is unusual, it's quite common for musical artists to receive requests from their audience to sign things that vary from a simple booklet to body parts. It brings a fun twist to fan signing culture, with netizens wondering what the next unusual item someone would bring to the table.
