Kevin Bacon, Lorde, Paul Kelly to appear on Take 5 with Zan Rowe
For three seasons, Take 5 with Zan Rowe has been essential viewing for anyone who understands the emotional pull of music. Each week, a guest joins Zan to share five songs that have shaped their life. Their music choices offer fascinating insights — but it's the personal stories behind the songs that truly resonate. This season, the guest list is more expansive than ever. Across six episodes, Zan sits down with Hollywood stars, iconic Australian songwriters, indie rock favourites, and pop royalty. "Sitting across from legends who have been with us on screen and speakers our whole lives, and unpacking the music that sets their hearts aflame is a great privilege and huge joy," Zan says. This year's lineup includes acclaimed actor Kevin Bacon, New Zealand's leftfield pop visionary Lorde, Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker, comedian Aaron Chen, songwriting master Paul Kelly, and Spice Girl Melanie C. Once the music starts, each guest opens up — and the stories that follow are often unexpected and deeply engaging. "One of the best things about Take 5 is where it takes us, and more often than not my guests are as surprised as we are," Zan says. "That is the power of song—it cracks open a deep part of us whenever we hit play. "Take 5 is about connection, about seeing yourself and finding your people. I'm so proud of this series and can't wait to share these beautiful, funny, and surprising episodes with you." You can catch these episodes on ABC TV and iview from 8:30pm Tuesdays, beginning September 9.
