Over 1,000 gather in Sandakan for Zara vigil

By: Mardinah Jikur Text Size: Some of the attendees at the vigil. - Mardinah Jikur | Daily Express SANDAKAN: More than 1,000 people from here and nearby districts gathered peacefully at The Piazza, Harbour Mall, for the #JusticeForZara Vigil organised by the Zara Solidarity Secretariat on Friday night. The gathering aimed to show unity and support for justice in the case.
Advertisement Among those present were Sandakan MP Vivian Wong Shir Yee, Elopura Assemblyman Calvin Chong Ket Kiun, community leaders, youth representatives, and members of the organising committee. Secretariat representative Mohamad Kadir Abdul Jalil said participants came to express sympathy for the late Zara and urged the public to avoid making defamatory or unfounded statements, leaving the investigation entirely to the authorities.
