Local Authorities in Hodeidah Condemn Murder of Citizen Mohammed Haba Qa'aybil in Abyan
Hodeidah - Saba:
The local authorities in Hodeidah Governorate strongly condemned the heinous crime committed by criminal gangs in the mercenary-controlled areas of Abyan Governorate, which resulted in the murder of citizen Mohammed Haba Qa'aybil. The victim was ambushed at the Al-Mahfad checkpoint, where he was subjected to armed robbery and brutally killed after the assailants seized the money in his possession.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the local authorities described the crime as a blatant violation of religious values, humanitarian principles, and tribal norms, as well as a dangerous precedent threatening the security and stability of Yemeni society.
The statement clarified that the cold-blooded murder, mutilation, and robbery of the martyr Mohammed Haba Qa'aybil—a resident of Al-Husseiniya area in Beit Al-Faqih District—reflect the state of lawlessness and security chaos prevailing in the occupied territories, where the rule of law is absent.
Authorities called for the swift prosecution of the perpetrators and the imposition of the maximum penalties under the law to ensure deterrence and protect society from the recurrence of such crimes.
The Hodeidah local authorities expressed full solidarity with the family of the martyr and the Zaraniq tribes, pledging to stand by them until justice is served and retribution is carried out without delay or obstruction.
