From Zee Nation Fest to Rosefest: Joburg celebrated Women's Day in style
DJ Zinhle delivered yet another thrilling edition of her festival Zee Nation on Women's Day. Image: Instagram/zeenationfest Joburgers were spoilt for choice when it came to events to attend on Women's Day and the events delivered unforgettable experiences for attendees. DJ Zinhle told no lies when she told IOL about her love of hosting people, and giving them experiences because Zee Nation Fest delivered exactly that and more. Held at Nasrec in Johannesburg, DJ Zinhle's besties (fans and supporters) travelled in their numbers, with some even coming from outside Gauteng to attend the festival. As it's a festival for her fans, DJ Zinhle engaged with her besties visiting the different activations and marquees interacting with her besties, taking endless selfies. Zee Nation isn't just a festival but also a full on production with DJ Zinhle having 10 outfit changes. Video Player is loading. Next Stay Close ✕ The lineup consisted of most of the country's top artists who performed on the massive stage and there were no technical sound issues and even if there were any, they were quickly resolved. Artists: Nadia Nakai, Nokwazi, Sjava, Sbu Noah, Khanyisa, Brenden Praise, Zee Nxumalo, Makhadzi, Big Zulu, Elaine and Nkosazana Daughter had the crowd dancing and singing along. For her performance, DJ Zinhle curated a set that featured songs from her new album, 'Zee Nation Volume 1', a clever way to get fans to stream her album after hearing the songs live. Her featured artists, Thabsie, Sfundo, Liyema Pantsi, Mthunzi, Sweet Guluva and Brenden Praise took to the stage to perform the songs. DJ Zinhle may be known for just spinning the decks, but she showed that she knows how to bust a move or two, taking part in some of the choreography. Zee Nation is all about the besties, hence no media hospitality, but that's another story. DJ Zinhle made sure to honour her besties by wearing a big cape with their faces on it and they're faces were also displayed on screen. Last night's concert was disappointing. There was no proper signage, the sound was bad,and there was no water or backup causing the bathrooms to be a mess. Also, for a venue that big they should've considered having more screens. Anthony Hamilton being the closing act was just 🤦🏾♀️ — uThando 💫 (@thandor_Madie) August 10, 2025 On the other side of Johannesburg,at Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens, musician Shekhinah hosted RoseFest returned after four years, launched the festival in 2019 but after 2020's covid it took a break. The return of RoseFest was met with high attendance with many of her fans and RnB lovers coming through for the female led lineup. In the North of Johannesburg at DP World Wanderers Stadium, another Women's Day concert took place, headlined by international stars Anthony Hamilton and Joe Thomas and local artists Vusi Nova and Zonke. The event went well but some attendees were unhappy due to sound issues that marred the experience. IOL Entertainment

Top fashion moments from DJ Zinhle's Zee Nation Fest
Thousands flocked to Johannesburg to experience the second instalment of DJ Zinhle's Zee Nation festival for a day of vibrant performances and pink cowgirl fashion on National Women's Day. The vast venue filled with eager concert-goers kept busy with talent like Elaine, Nadia Nakai, Makhadzi, Nkosazana Daughter, Lliema Pantsi and more offering electrifying performances in between entertaining hosting from Moozlie, Zanele Potelwa and more stars. Merchandise stands, charging stations and a new addition of comfortable resting 'Era lounges' added a tailored edge to the event, an ode to its evident popularity. Although Rome wasn't built in a day. DJ Zinhle spoke to TRUELOVE ahead of the festival about what it was going to take to pull off the festival. 'Because last year was successful, I thought this year would be a breeze. Somebody lied to me. Because they said 'Oh, you guys have done it, you guys are just going to flow through the next one'. No, it's been so tough. I mean, I think also everyone can feel the economy is not strong right now, so there were a lot of challenges putting it together so the emotions are high and low. 'But thank God that we are such a unified team, because also when you're doing a festival like this with your friends, tensions get high so you also have to manage that. So, emotionally it's been taxing, it's been hectic but thank God we have one vision,' Zinhle said. Special highlights included Mkahadzi and Sjava's encore-inducing performance and Pearl Thusi bringing her daughter Thando to the stage. Pearl told TRUELOVE, 'It was a special moment because I played Thula Nana... thinking of Thando when she was a little baby crying for me at home because I had to be in the streets to work and to finally be able to take her with me and to bring her while that song is playing is like, I don't know, there's a little bit of closure there I think hopefully for both of us.' Performers, industry friends and the 'besties' on the ground brought fun high fashion to the nippy tail end of Johannesburg's winter, with DJ Zinhle and Moozlie's many wardrobe changes fueling the event's extravagance. DJ Zinhle unveils exciting new album ahead of anticipated Zee Nation Fest
DJ Zinhle is set to host the second edition of Zee Nation Fest, promising an unforgettable experience for her fans. Image: blxcknativesmedia After pulling off a successful first Zee Nation Fest, multi award-winning DJ, media personality and businesswoman DJ Zinhle is about to do it again. The Besties are ready for another razzle and DJ Zinhle is focused on giving them a good experience. Leading up to her big day, Zinhle Jiyane and her team have been working hard to make sure that Zee Nation is getting the necessary attention. 'I'm a person who pays attention to detail. I love hosting people, but I love giving people an experience. Zee Nation Plus became an extension of that on a larger scale.' DJ Zinhle acknowledges the role her besties (fans, supporters) played in making the festival a success, but she's aware that the second festival is a deal breaker. 'This year is going to determine whether this thing's real or not.' The funny skits on social media are a hit. Scenes from 'The Zee Nation Office' leave her followers in chuckles. The skits have allowed the besties to become a part of the buildup to Zee Nation Fest. 'I think it's giving young people, or anyone a new way of looking at marketing and how you can get your brand out there because we don't have the budget for things like big billboards ir big advertising spend. 'We don't have that, but we have social media and we have our besties. Those are the people that we have to work with to get this festival out there.' Video Player is loading. It is super special for me.' On the album, DJ Zinhle features up-and-coming artists Liema Pantsi, Sweet Guluva and Sfundo. 'It's been great to work with young artists. They are keen, they are excited to work, but they're all super talented.' She speaks fondly of each of them, noting special traits about them, showing just how she admires them. You are good energy. The good energy that you're putting out there, may God multiply it by a million times and send it back to your life. 'Thank you so much for everything you guys do for me.
