Manika Vishwakarma crowned Miss Universe India 2025, says grateful to those who supported her
Vishwakrma, 22, won the crown at a grand ceremony held on August 18 in Jaipur's Zee Studio. At the event that lasted till the wee hours on Tuesday, Vishwakarma was crowned by Miss Universe India 2024 Rhea Singha Manika Vishwakarma from Rajasthan's Ganganagar has been crowned as Miss India Universe 2025 and she will now represent India at the 74th Miss Universe competition in Thailand later this year. Vishwakrma, 22, won the crown at a grand ceremony held on August 18 in Jaipur's Zee Studio. At the event that lasted till the wee hours on Tuesday, Vishwakarma was crowned by Miss Universe India 2024 Rhea Singha. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Uttar Pradesh's Tanya Sharma, 22, was the first runner-up and Haryana's Mehak Dhingra, 19, the second runner up. Amishi Kaushik, 23, from Haryana and Sarangthem Nirupama, 24, from Manipur were declared the third and fourth runner ups, respectively. After her win at the pageant, Vishwakarma credited her family and community for their constant support. 'To be honest, we always speak about struggle. But I would like to talk about the support that I have got. Even though I come from a normal small town family, I have received a lot of support from my family and community. I think I got a great education. My teachers played the most amazing role in it. So, rather than struggles, I would give credit to all those who have supported me in this journey. I am so grateful to all of you. It wouldn't have been possible without your support,' she told PTI in an interview. In the final round, Vishwakarma was asked to choose between advocating for women's education or providing economic aid to poor families. She chose women's education. 'Educating women doesn't just change one life, it transforms the future of families, communities and nations.' The jury panel included Miss India Universe owner Nikhil Anand, actor Urvashi Rautela, Ashley Robello and filmmaker Farhad Samji. 'It was a tough competition. We are very happy that Manika emerged as the winner. It's truly special for us. She will surely make the country proud at Miss Universe,' Rautela, a pageant winner herself, said.

EDhadak 2 Box Office collection Day 4: Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi starrer seems to struggle at the box office to retain momentum as it witnessed 66.27 percent drop in earnings on Monday. Following multiple delays, Shazia Iqbal directorial movie was finally released in theatres on August 1, only to witness slow start. After making descent earnings over the weekend, the Bollywood movie raked in an estimated ₹ 1.4 crore net at the domestic box office, according to film industry tracker Sacnilk. Produced under the banners Dharma Productions, Zee Studio and Cloud9 Studio, the movie opened to ₹ 3.5 crore net and ₹ 7.90 crore net over the next two days. On its first Saturday and Sunday it collected ₹ 3.75 crore and ₹ 4.15 crore respectively. Thus, during its 4-day run in theatres, the emotionally-charged movie did a business of ₹ 12.8 crore net. Even the footfalls presented a grim picture as the movie registered an overall 14.26% Hindi occupancy on August 4. During the first three days, the romantic thriller did a business of ₹ 16 crore globally, Sacnilk reported. As per Bolly movie reviewz, the film was made on a budget of ₹ 60 crore. The strong narrative focused on caste and love features an ensemble cast, including Saurabh Sachdeva, Zakir Hussain, Deeksha Joshi, and Vipin Sharma in pivotal roles, alongside lead actors. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who gave Dhadak 2 a 3.5 star rating, said, 'Sharp writing. Captivating, emotionally-charged second half... Solid performances. Dhadak2 works for the most part... But the love story lacks the soul-stirring soundtrack that elevated the first part.'

However, it saw a 7% rise on Tuesday as it made ₹ 70 lakh, in comparison to Monday when it did a business of ₹ 65 lakh. The domestic net collection amounts to ₹ 86.85 crore.
