Art reflects the values of law and justice, says judge

'Painting and photography are not just forms of art, they also reflect the values of law and justice,' District Judge S.L. Chavan has said. He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating an exhibition of paintings and photographs organized by the Zilla Kannada Sahitya Parishat as part of Independence Day celebrations at Kala Soudha, Kannada Bhavan, in Kalaburagi on Sunday. Mr. Chavan emphasized that artworks carry deep meanings and messages, including those that resonate with the principles of law and social harmony. He encouraged the public and institutions to support and appreciate artists for their contributions to society. Parishat president Vijaykumar Patil Tegaltippi, who presided over the function, noted that celebrating Independence Day by honoring both artists and pourakarmikas reflects the true spirit of unity and gratitude. The event was attended by artist and Kala Soudha convener Rehman Patel and others.

Pic: Artist Rehaman Patel explains his artwork to guests Kalaburagi: A solo exhibition of paintings by Karnataka Lalithakala Academy award winning artist Rehaman Patel, organised by the Zilla Kannada Sahitya Parishat at Kala Soudha Kannada Bhavan, concluded here on Tuesday. The exhibition and felicitation programme was organised by the Parishat to honour Patel. The award-winning painting, a Surpur style miniature titled 'Madhyamadi Raga' was on display, along with 24 other art works that depicted themes of socio-cultural issues, education, unity in diversity, and peace. Members Sharanraj Chaparbandi, Shivraj Andagi, Dharmanna Dhanni, artists Rajshekhar Shamanna, Mohammad Ayazuddin Patel, and others were present on the occasion.
