However, when Tony's security company is attacked, the duo must go on the run across Europe and try to figure out who is after them — all while learning to trust each other again. NCIS fans left feeling vindicated as two characters return in spin-off series
NCIS fans are celebrating the return of two fan favourite characters in a brand new spin-off series. Nine years after last appearing on-screen together, Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo have reunited for their own project, playing Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David. The news follows Weatherly's special guest appearance in an episode paying tribute to David McCallum, the actor who played Dr Donald 'Ducky' Mallard in the long-running crime procedural. He died in September 2023. ADVERTISEMENT Advertisement When the project was announced, no title was set – but it's now been revealed the series will be called NCIS: Tony & Ziva. The show will reintroduce viewers to Tony and Ziva who, after last seeing each other in Paris, find themselves embroiled in a dangerous plot that causes them to go on the run with their daughter. NCIS fans are joyously responding to the trailer, with many long-time fans of the couple, nicknamed 'Tiva', feeling vindicated by the news. 'CBS has a lot of faith that the NCIS franchise still has plenty to offer. Looking forward to this one,' one fan wrote, with another adding: 'It's finally happening, I can't believe it.' ADVERTISEMENT Advertisement Others said the spin-off news has lured old viewers back in. 'Me? Watching NCIS again in the year 2024? 12 year old me is dying at this news,' one person wrote. 'How is this real? Are we in 2012 again?' another added. Speaking about the new show, Weatherly and de Pablo, who left the show in 2016, said: 'We've been talking about this story for many years, and now with John McNamara at the helm, we are ready. 'NCIS: Tony and Ziva' (Paramount+) 'The world of Tony and Ziva (and daughter Tali) promises to be an action-packed roller coaster fueled by love, danger, tears and laughter. We also want to acknowledge and thank the fans from around the world who supported the 'Tiva' movement for years. ADVERTISEMENT Advertisement 'To this day, they say hello in grocery stores and on the street to tell us how much these characters mean to them and ask what Tony and Ziva are up to now. This is for you!' McNamara, whose previous credits include The Magicians, added: 'I'm incredibly excited to step into the NCIS universe with Cote and Michael and thrilled to explore it from a few new angles. 'Given that the franchise is such a global sensation, I think it's phenomenal that CBS Studios and Paramount+ have given us the green light to shoot in Europe. As to the title of this series, if I told you what it is, I'd be violating the Espionage Act.' NCIS: Tony & Ziva, which will be released later this year, is not the only new spin-off to be commissioned; there will also be a prequel series focused on a young version of Gibbs (Mark Harmon).

"NCIS: Tony & Ziva" Gets First Images and Release Window
Yara Sameh Paramount+ has unveiled the first images of "NCIS: Tony & Ziva", the upcoming European-set NCIS spinoff series centered around two fan-favorite characters from "NCIS", Tony DiNozzo, played by Michael Weatherly, and Ziva David, portrayed by Cote de Pablo. The streamer also confirmed the series will premiere in fall 2025. The action-packed spinoff, which has a 10-episode order and sees Weatherly and de Pablo reuniting on screen for the first time in 10 years, follows Tony and Ziva as they find themselves on the run across the Old Continent. On the mothership NCIS series, after Ziva's (de Pablo) believed death, Tony left the NCIS team to raise their daughter Tali. However, Ziva was discovered alive years later, leading her to complete one final mission with NCIS before she was reunited with Tony and their daughter in Paris. The couple's peaceful life gets interrupted when Tony's security company is attacked, they must go on the run across Europe, trying to figure out who is after them and maybe even learn to trust each other again so that they can finally have their unconventional happily ever after. NCIS is one of the most valuable franchises and its expansion has been a goal for the CBS Studios. This is one of two new NCIS offshoots greenlighted this year, along with the Young Gibbs prequel series for CBS, "NCIS: Origins". It is also the second extension of the NCIS franchise beyond the U.S., following "NCIS: Sydney", which has been airing on CBS in the U.S. Weatherly, an original NCIS cast member, had been with the series since its launch in 2003. He left after 13 seasons and went on to headline another CBS/CBS Studios drama, "Bull". Speculation about his potential return to NCIS picked up after Bull ended its run last spring. He recently did a surprise cameo in the Ducky tribute episode of the mothership series. De Pablo joined NCIS in Season 3. She starred in 3 seasons through 10 and exited the series early in Season 11. In the Season 13 finale, it was revealed that Ziva apparently had died in an explosion in Israel. She returned three years later in 2019, where it was revealed she was alive and had gone into hiding. She made a surprise unannounced return in the last scene of the season 16 finale, which aired on May 21, 2019, in which Ziva arrives at Gibbs' basement to warn him that his life is in danger. Ziva later appeared in the first two episodes of the show's 17th season and in that season's 10th and 11th episodes as part of her storyline. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Lifestyle Pistachio and Raspberry Cheesecake Domes Recipe News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Videos & Features Bouchra Dahlab Crowned Miss Arab World 2025 ..
