6 ways to support Dubai delivery drivers during peak summer heat
Dubai summer has settled in, bringing with it scorching temperatures that can sometimes brush 50 degrees Celsius.
That combined with the humidity leaves most sticking to indoor activities, and avoiding being out in the hottest hours.
The same can't be said forever for Dubai's delivery drivers however, who work tirelessly to make sure you have everything you need brought to your home.

If you're using Dubai delivery drivers' services this summer, here are some suggestions of a few things you can do at home to help them out:
Have some water bottles in the house that you can offer out, or leave outside your front door.
Have some small sweets or snacks at home that you can offer to drivers when they arrive with your delivery.
Be polite and treat drivers with respect.
Don't leave them waiting outside for a long period of time.
Make sure you are contactable if they cannot reach you or find your address.
Be mindful of the time you are ordering items (for example, are you ordering in the midday heat?)

In 2023, the RTA announced that a series of 40 rest areas would be constructed around Dubai so delivery drivers could escape the heat for a period of time.
When on a break or between jobs, the drivers can take a seat in the air-conditioned spaces and cool down.
As of July 2024, three new water dispensers have also been added which turn Dubai's humid air into clean drinking water for the drivers.
Now in July 2025, UAE Zone Delivery Services launched the campaign, 'Beat The Heat with Zone Delivery Services' to help hard-working delivery drivers cool off.
The initiative offers free ice cream and juices to riders across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and other cities in the UAE, regardless of which delivery company they work for.
