UFC Vegas 107 main event canceled after Maycee Barber suffers potential seizure minutes before fight
Maycee Barber's main-event fight against Erin Blanchfield was canceled at the last possible moment. (Mike Roach/Zuffa LLC) The main event of the UFC Vegas 107 card was canceled at the last possible moment. Maycee Barber and Erin Blanchfield were set to face off in a clash of ranked flyweights on Saturday in Las Vegas, to the point that the ESPN stream aired their pre-fight feature with interviews from both fighters. Once the video was done, a somber booth of broadcasters explained that Barber wasn't ready to fight. Advertisement One commercial break later, they announced the fight had been canceled due to a "last-minute medical issue" for Barber, who couldn't receive medical clearance to enter the Octagon. Blanchfield later said in an interview that UFC executive Hunter Campbell told her that Barber had suffered a seizure. The day before the fight, Barber missed weight by a half-pound and was forced to forfeit 20% of her purse to Blanchfield, part of a host of weight-related issues on the card for the UFC. Check out full UFC Vegas 107 results and highlights below. Main Card Women's flyweight: Erin Blanchfield vs. Maycee Barber canceled Advertisement Lightweight: Mateusz Gamrot def. (Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC) Blanchfield (13-2) is the No. 4 fighter in the official UFC women's flyweight rankings. The 26-year-old Blanchfield was riding a nine-fight winning streak when she faced Manon Fiorot in the main event of a UFC Fight Night card in March 2024. Fiorot won that bout with ease, ringing up three 50-45 scores from the judges. The victory earned Fiorot a UFC 315 matchup against UFC women's flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko, a bout Shevchenko won via decision. Blanchfield took a step back toward a title fight in November when she scored a decision win over former UFC women's strawweight champion Rose Namajunas. (Photo by) Barber (14-2) is the No. 5 fighter in the UFC women's 125-pound division. She opened her UFC career with a 3-2 record, but is undefeated since dropping back-to-back decisions to Roxanne Modafferi and Alexa Grasso in 2020 and 2021. The 27-year-old Barber is riding a six-fight winning streak heading into UFC Vegas 107. Her most recent victory was a March 2024 decision win over Katlyn Cerminara. Barber was schedule to face Rose Namajunas in July 2024, but she dropped out of that fight due to illness. Barber later revealed she had Epstein-barr virus. In December she told Morning Kombat, "Everything's going great now. It has been a long journey. I was so bummed when – well, first of all, I was so excited to fight Rose because not only was I fighting Rose, but I was also fighting in Denver where I made my UFC debut. So for me, it was my first main event. "It was a very huge opportunity for me, and I was so excited and then I was devastated when I was told, 'Hey look, you're not going to fight on this card.' Obviously the health is more important. So I was very devastated, but I have made a lot of progress coming forward, and I can't wait to be back." Odds, Lines, Prop Bets And Predictions
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - MAY 16: (L-R) Opponents Gilbert Burns of Brazil and Michael Morales of Ecuador ... More face off during the UFC Fight Night weigh-in at the Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino on May 16, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC) Saturday's UFC Vegas 106 fight card is nearly upon us. In the main event of the UFC Fight Night, which takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, former UFC welterweight title challenger Gilbert Burns faces the undefeated Michael Morales. Meanwhile, in the evening's light heavyweight co-main event, Paul Craig meets Rodolfo Bellato. We look at the betting odds, line movement, prediction, picks, and prop bets for the UFC Vegas 106 main card. UFC Vegas 106 streams on ESPN+ with the main card starting at 7:00 p.m. ET. The prelims begin at 4:00 p.m. ET. LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - MAY 16: Michael Morales of Ecuador poses on the scale during the UFC Fight Night ... More weigh-in at the Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino on May 16, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC) Burns (22-8) is the No. 8 competitor in the official UFC welterweight rankings. Burns had won six straight when he battled then-UFC welterweight champ Kamaru Usman in February 2021. Usman won that contest by TKO in the third round. Since that setback, the 38-year-old Burns has gone 3-4. He is riding a three-fight losing skid heading into UFC Vegas 106, falling to Belal Muhammad, Jack Della Maddalena, and Sean Brady in those contests. Burns fell from No. 6 to No. 8 following his UFC Vegas 97 decision loss to Brady in September 2024. Morales (17-0) joined the UFC in 2021 when he won a contract via a decision victory on a Dana White's Contender Series fight card. Since then, Morales has gone 5-0 with the UFC with three knockouts and two decisions. The 25-year-old Morales broke into the official UFC welterweight rankings in August when he earned a 'Performance of the Night' bonus for his first-round knockout win over long-time UFC competitor Neil Magny. The main event of UFC Vegas 106 is an excellent opportunity for the 38-year-old Burns to show that he remains an elite UFC welterweight. As for Morales, Saturday's UFC Fight Night is his chance to show that he belongs among the top 10 of the 170-pound division. When the betting odds opened for the UFC Vegas 106 main event, Morales was a significant -600 betting favorite over the +425 Burns. Today, Morales comes in at -800, while Burns is the +550 betting underdog. With the lopsided odds, it's no surprise to see that 91 percent of wagers have come in on Burns. However, it is somewhat surprising that Morales has earned 59 percent of the handle while presenting so little betting value. The pick is for Morales to win via decision, but the value is clearly in Burns to win via upset. LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - MAY 16: (L-R) Opponents Rodolfo Bellato of Brazil and Paul Craig of Scotland ... More face off during the UFC Fight Night weigh-in at the Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino on May 16, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC) Paul Craig has been with the UFC since 2016. He enters his UFC Vegas 106 matchup against Rodolfo Bellato on the worst run of his professional career, going 1-5 since July 2022 and losing his past three outings. Craig knows Saturday's fight could be his last under the UFC banner with a loss. As for Bellato, he is a relative newcomer to the UFC, joining the promotion via the Dana White's Contender Series in 2023. He is 1-0-1 with the promotion and coming off a UFC 312 draw with Jimmy Crute. When the betting odds opened for this bout, Bellato was the -350 favorite over the +275 Craig. Today, Bellato is listed at -550, while Craig is the +400 underdog. Craig has 70 percent of the bets, while 65 percent of the money is on Bellato. The betting pick is Bellato to win via knockout, but for those looking for value, Craig by submission, while extremely unlikely, is the bet. LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - MAY 16: (L-R) Opponents Sodiq Yusuff of Nigeria and Mairon Santos of Brazil face ... More off during the UFC Fight Night weigh-in at the Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino on May 16, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC) Sodiq Yusuff ends an absence of more than a year at UFC Vegas 106. He makes his lightweight debut following a 6-3 featherweight run with the UFC. Yusuff, who has back-to-back losses on his record heading into Saturday's fight card, faces Marion Santos, who is 2-0 with the UFC and the winner of Season 32 of 'The Ultimate Fighter.' When the odds opened on this contest, Yusuff was a +120 betting underdog to the -145 Santos. Those odds have shifted slightly. Today, Yusuff is +120, while Santos is the -140 favorite. Yusuff has 51 percent of the bets, while Santos has 60 percent of the handle. The betting pick is Yusuff to win via decision. LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - MAY 16: (L-R) Opponents Dustin Stoltzfus and Nursulton Ruziboev of Uzbekistan ... More face off during the UFC Fight Night weigh-in at the Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino on May 16, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC) The opening odds in this middleweight matchup saw Dustin Stoltzfus at +220, while Nursulton Ruziboev came in at -275. Today, Stoltzfus is listed at +230, while Ruziboev is the -285 betting favorite. Ruziboev has 63 percent of the bets in his favor, and a whopping 93 percent of the money is on him. The betting pick is Ruziboev to win via knockout. LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - MAY 16: (L-R) Opponents Julian Erosa and Melquizael Costa of Brazil face off ... More during the UFC Fight Night weigh-in at the Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino on May 16, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC) Opening the UFC Vegas 106 main card is a featherweight scrap between Julian Erosa and Melquizael Costa. Costa was the opening favorite at -170 and he remains the favorite at +185. Erosa was a +140 underdog at opening. Today, he is listed at +150. Seventy percent of the bets are on Erosa, but 72 percent of the handle is on Costa. The betting pick is Costa to win via decision. *All numbes via BetMGM Michael Morales to beat Gilbert Burns via KO/TKO: -185 Michael Morales to land more significant strikes than Gilbert Burns: -400 Rodolfo Bellato to beat Paul Craig via KO/TKO: -170 Paul Craig to beat Rodolfo Bellato via submission: +600 Rodolfo Bellato to land more significant strikes than Paul Craig: +400 Nursulton Ruziboev to beat Dustin Stoltzfus via KO/TKO: -150 Melquizael Costa to beat Julian Erosa via KO/TKO: +200 *Odds via BetOnline Gabriel Green vs. Matheus Camilo Jared Gordon vs. Thiago Moisés Luana Santos vs. Tainara Lisboa Elise Reed vs. Denise Gomes Park Hyun-sung vs. Carlos Hernandez Tecia Pennington vs. Luana Pinheiro Yadier Del Valle vs. Connor Matthews Saturday, May 17, 2025 UFC Apex in Las Vegas, NV Main Card: ESPN+ Preliminary Card: ESPN+ Prelims: 4:00 p.m. ET Main Card: 7:00 p.m. ET We will have more on the UFC Vegas 106 fight card as fight night nears, including results, reactions and highlights on fight night.

Jose Aldo Misses Weight At UFC 315 — Fight Saved By Sudden Switch
MONTREAL, QUEBEC - MAY 09: Jose Aldo of Brazil poses on the scale during the UFC 315 official ... More weigh-in at the Le Centre Sheraton Montreal Hotel on May 09, 2025 in Montreal, Quebec. (Photo by Chris Unger/Zuffa LLC) Jose Aldo could be done competing at 135 pounds. The UFC Hall of Famer and former featherweight champion was set to miss weight by a wide margin ahead of his fight on Saturday against Aiemann Zahabi in Montreal at UFC 315. However, with the fight at stake and Aldo unable to safely cut any more weight, a deal was struck between Aldo, the UFC, and Zahabi to fight at featherweight with a 145-pound limit. Originally, Aldo and Zahabi were supposed to fight at bantamweight, but due to the weight-cut issues, the UFC was forced to pivot or cancel the fight. Here is a look at the official weigh-in results and the finalized card for Saturday's pay-per-view: Date: May 10, 2025Location: Bell Centre, Montreal, Quebec, Canada *Bruno Silva missed the middleweight limit by one pound. The fight proceeds at catchweight. He forfeits 20% of his purse. **Daniel Santos initially missed weight but successfully made weight on his second attempt. Ian Machado Garry weighed in at 168 pounds as the official backup fighter for the main event. According to The Uncrowned's Ariel Helwani, the UFC changed Aldo-Zahabi to featherweight because Aldo couldn't get down to 136. Aldo didn't look healthy when he took the scales. Saturday's fight is a big one for Aldo. The Brazilian still hopes to reach contender status at bantamweight, but if he cannot make the weight anymore, he'll be forced to explore other options. While Saturday's fight is at featherweight, it is tough to imagine the legend having another successful run in that weight class. For Zahabi, it behooved him to take the fight at featherweight. The bout is taking place in his home country, and he will have tons of fan support. He also has the opportunity to defeat a legend—even if it is a compromised one. Also, the UFC has generally been favorable to fighters who compromise and are willing to keep fights alive. Zahabi could have opted out, but there may have been some concern about how it would look if he cost the promotion a big fight on the main card of a pay-per-view. As it is, Zahabi will be expected to win, but now part of the intrigue is around the state Aldo will be in for what could be a pivotal fight in the rest of his career.

Bo Nickal Responds To Critics' Fraud Check Claims After First Pro Loss
DES MOINES, IOWA - MAY 03: Bo Nickal waits backstage during the UFC Fight Night event at Wells Fargo ... More Arena on May 03, 2025 in Des Moines, Iowa. (Photo by Mike Roach/Zuffa LLC) Zuffa LLC Mixed martial arts is an unforgiving sport, and its fans can be even more cruel than the strikes and grappling that take place in the cage. Bo Nickal knows that well, and if he forgot, he received a nasty-spirited reminder on Saturday and Sunday following his first professional loss as a mixed martial artist. Nickal, the celebrated amateur wrestling product who burst onto the UFC scene, suffered a second-round TKO loss at the hands of Reinier de Ridder during the main card at UFC Des Moines on Saturday. A series of well-placed knees to the midsection did Nickal in. DES MOINES, IOWA - MAY 03: (R-L) Reinier de Ridder of The Netherlands knees Bo Nickal in their ... More middleweight fight during the UFC Fight Night event at Wells Fargo Arena on May 03, 2025 in Des Moines, Iowa. (Photo by Josh Hedges/Zuffa LLC) Zuffa LLC No sooner than the official result of the fight was read, the legion of Nickal haters took to social media to pelt the 29-year-old with insults, jeers, and next-level criticism. Nickal was a guest on the Ariel Helwani Show on Tuesday, and he addressed the criticism—most specifically, he spoke to the concept of being 'fraud checked,' as many insisted he was after the loss to de Ridder. For those who are unaware, the term 'fraud checked' applies to a fighter who has been built as a top contender, but who has run into a veteran who proves they're not what they've been made out to be by the media or the UFC matchmakers. 'Yeah, everything's so dramatized, and people in today's day and age, there's never a middle ground.,' Nickal told Helwani. 'It's either you're amazing or you're the worst, and so I think that really that's just what it is. People want the drama, and they want the emotion to be evoked, and so for me, it's really irrelevant. I'm on the path that I'm on, and I believe that the one loss doesn't define me. Even if I lose again, I could lose two, three, four, five times, but I'm not going to quit, and I'm just going to keep getting better and keep improving. I think that there's always going to be opinions of me, and some of them are going to be high, you know, too high. Some of them are going to be too low, and very few of them are going to be actually accurate, and so that doesn't really affect me. I just want to keep getting better at fighting.' Here is a look at the segment: Nickal is now 7-1 as a pro, and he'd still qualify as a fighter on the cusp of a ranking at middleweight, or you could make the argument he already is one of the Top 15 185-pounders in the promotion. RDR, though ranked No. 13, would likely be a problem for most of the fighters in the weight class. Quite honestly, I'd favor RDR to defeat at least four of the men currently ranked ahead of him on the latest UFC rankings. That said, Nickal's ranking isn't going to rise after a loss. He needs a win—maybe two or three of them—to crack the Top 15. The big question for Nickal is what's next? I think the smartest fight for him would come against a middleweight who is also just outside the Top 15. If he wins that fight, perhaps he gets a shot at someone like Brendan Allen or Marvin Vettori. Those are winnable fights for him, and it could be a path toward proving he wasn't fraud checked. Perhaps the loss was instead proof the goods still need to be matured a bit before they can be certified as authentic.
