Detroit Lions trade up to No. 57 to grab Georgia OG Tate Ratledge

The Detroit Lions got some help for their offensive line with their second-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft. The Lions traded up to take Georgia guard Tate Ratledge with pick No. 57 overall on April 25. The Lions traded their original second-round pick No. 60 overall, plus their fourth-round choice (No. 130), and also acquired a seventh-round pick No. 230 in the deal, according to NFL Network. Advertisement Kevin Zeitler, the Lions' right guard last season, signed with the Tennessee Titans in free agency, and entered the draft with Graham Glasgow and Christian Mahogany penciled into the starting guard jobs. Glasgow, 32, had a down year last season after moving from right to left guard to accommodate Zeitler, while Mahogany, a sixth-round pick last year, played well in two late-season starts. The Lions took Ohio State defensive tackle Tyleik Williams with their first-round pick, No. 28 overall. They have five picks remaining: No. 100 overall in Round 3, No. 196 in Round 6 and three picks in the seventh round. They still have needs at edge rush, wide receiver, tight end and on the offensive line. Dave Birkett is the author of the book, "Detroit Lions: An Illustrated Timeline." Order your copy here.
