Wawa opening new Fishersville store Friday with ceremonies, giveaways, hoagie competition
Wawa officials announced grand opening ceremonies for its new Fishersville location Aug. 15, starting at 7:45 a.m. It will be the first Wawa in Augusta County. The store is located at 438 Tinkling Spring Road.
A Staunton store will open in October at 1135 Richmond Ave.
A Pennsylvania-based convenience store and gas station chain, Wawa stores offer a foodservice selection, including Wawa brands such as custom prepared hoagies, freshly-brewed coffee, hot breakfast sandwiches, hand-crafted specialty beverages, a dinner menu including burgers and pizza, an assortment of soups, sides and snacks.
The festivities in Fisherville will start at 7:45 a.m. with Wawa General Manager Patrick Murphy doing the honors of counting down the moment when the doors open for the very first time at 8 a.m., with free Wawa T-shirts for the first 100 customers, as supplies last, and free any size hot coffee through Aug. 17.
Immediately following at 8:30 a.m., customers are invited to participate in a brief ceremony to celebrate the new store team. The program includes a ribbon-cutting ceremony with local officials, customers and a 'Hoagies for Heroes' hoagie-building competition between first responders benefitting local charities.
Also, Wawa is bringing back its popular $5 Big Breakfast Deal through Sept. 7. Customers can visit any of Wawa's 1,100 locations from 5-11 a.m. for the deal, which includes any-size hot or iced coffee, any Sizzli breakfast sandwich, and a hash brown.
