Two more people arrested after 'car drives into pedestrians following a fight at private event'
Two further arrests have been made after a car allegedly drove into pedestrians following a report of a fight at a private event. Police were yesterday called to De Montfort Street, in the centre of Leicester, just after 12.30am where two men and two women had been hurt in the crash. A 31-year-old man from Leicester was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and causing serious injury by dangerous driving following the collision. Two further men from Leicester were arrested yesterday afternoon. A 28-year-old man is being held on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and causing serious injury by dangerous driving following the collision. The second man, a 34-year-old, was arrested on suspicion of affray. All three men arrested remain in police custody while the four injured are still receiving treatment in hospital where they are in a 'stable condition'. The car believed to have been involved in the crash was found nearby. Detective Inspector Jenny Tattersall of Leicestershire Police said: 'We have been working tirelessly today to understand the sequence of events and how the incidents of the early hours occurred. 'The cordon was in place for much of today to allow for thorough investigations to be carried out, including the attendance of forensic officers. This has now been lifted. 'We do continue to ask that people do not speculate about this incident, including on social media, in order to allow our investigation to continue. We will continue to provide updates and information as and when we are able to. 'Officers will remain in the area on foot patrol offering reassurance. Please do speak with them regarding any information you may have or any concerns you may have. Anyone with information is also urged to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 27 of May 31.

Police said the suspects and the four injured people had all been in attendance at a private event nearby prior to the collision. The car believed to have been involved in the incident was found in nearby Margaret Street and has been recovered as part of the investigation. Five arrests in Stalham after altercation outside supermarket
Five people were arrested on suspicion of affray after a "physical altercation" outside a supermarket, police were called to the car park at Tesco on Old Market Road in Stalham, north Norfolk, at 11:40 BST on Thursday.A police statement said the incident followed a "verbal altercation" between the occupants of a vehicle and two pedestrians - a man and a woman - were left with minor injuries and a third woman also received minor injuries, they said. Cribbs Causeway stabbing: Teen charged with attempted murder
A 16-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a 15-year-old near a shopping were called to an underpass between The Mall and The Venue at Cribbs Causeway just before 17:40 BST on Monday. Arrests after reports of gunshots in Leicester street
Five men have been arrested after reports of a gun being fired in a street in Leicester.
