These Are the Best Airport Restaurants, According to Yelpers

Have you ever been to a new airport for the first time, fervently searching for something to eat, but not sure if you wanted to try something new? When your time is short and you're about to hop on another flight, it can feel like quite the risk. Thankfully, crowd-sourced review company Yelp recently compiled a list of travelers' favorite airport businesses in its 2025 Yelp Most Loved Airport Brands report. The company evaluated businesses across several metrics, including ratings, reviews, and photo uploads on its site, as well as other factors like the number of airports the brand has locations at (the minimum was five). Perhaps unsurprisingly, Yelp's list was made up almost entirely of food and beverage companies. It seems everyone, regardless of where they are going or why, wants a little treat during their travels. 'Airports are some of the most crowded, high-stress environments, so the brands that stand out understand the modern traveler's mindset—prioritizing speed without sacrificing experience, and delivering memorable moments,' said Kadecia Ber, senior director of campaign strategy for national brands at Yelp, said in a statement obtained by Travel + Leisure . 'Whether it's a glass of wine before boarding or a protein smoothie between connections, these most loved airport brands are redefining what it means to travel well, and Yelp is proud to help travelers discover them.' After combing through all the data, Yelp named Vino Volo, a lounge-style stop that offers a slightly upscale experience with things like small plates and wines by the glass on the menu, the best brand that you can find at an airport. After Vino Volo, chicken sandwich spot Chick-fil-A and East Coast burger chain Shake Shack made the second and third spots, respectively. Here's the complete top ten: Vino Volo Chick-Fil-A Shake Shack Potbelly Sandwich Shop Starbucks Einstein Bros. Bagels Qdoba Dunkin' The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Xpresspa For those familiar with the airport, you'll quickly recognize that the last brand in the top 10 doesn't sell any food—instead specializing in massages and other quick relaxation services. It seems that for people on the go, wellness is still a priority, even if it's a 10-minute massage during a layover. Other traveler favorites made appearances in the top 20, such as McDonald's, Panda Express, Chili's, Smashburger, Garrett Popcorn Shops, Burger King, Jamba Juice, California Pizza Kitchen, Peet's Coffee, and Wendy's. Really, the rule of thumb seems to be that if you're in an airport, go with a brand you know from the outside world.

This Is the No. 1 Airport in the World for Foodies—With More Than 300 Dining Options

Airport food doesn't exactly have the best reputation. It's usually a "whatever you can find" situation, especially if it's an overnight layover in the middle of nowhere. But every once in a while, you happen to be landing or taking off from an airport filled with food you actually want to sit down and savor. In February, the research team at SEO for Restaurants released its report that analyzed the average rating and food prices for airports across the globe to rank the best airports for foodies. To figure out which ones are the tastiest, the team started with a seed list created in-house. Then, it ranked that list using a number of criteria, including the number of food establishments per one million passengers, the average rating of those food establishments, and the average food price. All the information was gathered via each airport's official website, and pricing and rating data was sourced from Google Maps. After digging into all that information, the team named Singapore's Changi Airport (SIN) the best in the world with a score of 87.79 out of 100, noting it offers the highest number of unique food establishments per million passengers. "Singapore Changi Airport's top ranking is a testament to its commitment to providing diverse dining options for travelers. With over 300 dining establishments available across its terminals, premium amenities, unique attractions, and efficient services, Changi Airport deserves to be ranked first in many airport lists," Andrea Abbondanza, CEO and founder of SEO For Restaurants, shared in a statement provided to Travel + Leisure . Abbondanza also noted that airports in Asia had a strong showing on the list, reflecting the "region's rich culinary heritage and the growing interest in food tourism. These airports have integrated local food culture into the travel experience, creating dining pit stops within their terminals." Zurich Airport (ZRH) in Switzerland came in second, followed by Tokyo International Airport (HND) and Narita International Airport (NRT) in Japan in third and fourth, respectively. They were followed by Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Qatar, Munich International Airport (MUC) in Germany, Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN) in South Korea, Dubai International Airport (DXB) in the United Arab Emirates, Istanbul International Airport (IST) in Turkey, and Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) in France, rounding out the top 10. "As airports evolve into lifestyle hubs, we expect to see even more emphasis on culinary offerings," Abbondanza said. "This trend not only enhances the travel experience but also provides significant opportunities for local restaurants and food businesses to showcase their cuisine to a global audience."
