Dutch Official Commends Morocco's Constructive Role, Under HM the King's Leadership, for Peace in Middle East
Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Christiaan Rebergen, commended, on Tuesday in Rabat, Morocco's constructive role, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the al-Quds Committee, to instaure peace in the Middle East. During a press briefing on the sidelines of the Fifth Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, Rebergen said that the co-chairship of Morocco and the Netherlands of this event showcases the quality of bilateral cooperation as well as the two countries' shared values. He thanked the Kingdom of Morocco for hosting this important meeting, which is being held against the backdrop of the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza. The Dutch official also reiterated his country's position in support of the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid to the region, in accordance with international humanitarian law. The meeting aims to establish concrete, time-bound measures to relaunch the Two-State solution, and to take stock of efforts to promote peace in the Middle East. It will also look at ways of building the Palestinian economy. The resolutions of this meeting will contribute to the work of the high-level conference for the Two-State solution, scheduled to take place at the UN headquarters in New York in June 2025. Launched on the UN General Assembly High-Level Week in September 2024, the Global Alliance is a diplomatic platform dedicated to the effective relaunch of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. Palestinian FM Expresses Thanks to HM the King for His Efforts in Support of Palestinian Cause, Two-State Solution
Palestinian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, expressed, on Tuesday in Rabat, her thanks to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the al-Quds Committee, for His efforts in support of the Palestinian cause and the implementation of the Two-State solution. During a press briefing on the sidelines of the Fifth Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, the Palestinian minister said that holding the meeting in Morocco is part of the Kingdom's sustained efforts to make the State of Palestine a concrete reality. 'We are counting heavily on this kind of meeting,' especially at a time when Palestine is going through a very delicate situation, she added, noting that this meeting would contribute to efforts to achieve the two-state solution and enrich the work of the high-level conference on the two-state solution, scheduled to take place at UN headquarters in New York next June. Co-hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of the Netherlands on the theme "Sustaining Momentum for the Peace Process: Lessons Learned, Success Stories and Steps Forward," this meeting brings together government officials and representatives from around 50 countries and international organizations committed to the Two-State Solution. The meeting aims to take stock of efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East, to highlight the successes achieved in this area, and to draw the appropriate lessons for concrete, time-bound measures to relaunch the Two-State solution. The meeting will also explore ways of building the Palestinian economy. The work of the meeting is divided into three thematic sessions dealing with the impact of peace processes in the Middle East, efforts to support the governance structures of the Palestinian state, and the economic foundations of peace in the region. Morocco: Croatia Hails His Majesty the King's Leadership as Chairman of al-Quds Committee
In a Joint Declaration adopted following talks on Wednesday in Zagreb between Croatia's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Gordan Grlić Radman, and Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, the Republic of Croatia hailed 'the leadership of His Majesty the King as Chairman of the al-Quds Committee'. The two parties also underscored Morocco and Croatia's positive and constructive roles in maintaining stability, security and peace in their respective regions and their commitment to the fundamental universal principles of the UN Charter, and the need for peaceful conflict resolution with full respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of States, in accordance with international law. The Sultanate of Oman praised the continuous efforts of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the al-Quds Committee, in defending the Holy City and preserving its status and civilizational identity. This recognition of the major role of HM King Mohammed VI, may God preserve Him, to the benefit of the Palestinian cause, mainly the city of al-Quds Asharif, was expressed in a joint communiqué published on the 7th Moroccan-Omani Joint Commission, co-chaired, on Sunday in Muscat, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, and Oman's Foreign Minister, Badr Bin Hamad Bin Hamoud Al Busaidi.
