Palestinian FM Expresses Thanks to HM the King for His Efforts in Support of Palestinian Cause, Two-State Solution
Palestinian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, expressed, on Tuesday in Rabat, her thanks to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the al-Quds Committee, for His efforts in support of the Palestinian cause and the implementation of the Two-State solution.
During a press briefing on the sidelines of the Fifth Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, the Palestinian minister said that holding the meeting in Morocco is part of the Kingdom's sustained efforts to make the State of Palestine a concrete reality.
'We are counting heavily on this kind of meeting,' especially at a time when Palestine is going through a very delicate situation, she added, noting that this meeting would contribute to efforts to achieve the two-state solution and enrich the work of the high-level conference on the two-state solution, scheduled to take place at UN headquarters in New York next June.
Co-hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of the Netherlands on the theme "Sustaining Momentum for the Peace Process: Lessons Learned, Success Stories and Steps Forward," this meeting brings together government officials and representatives from around 50 countries and international organizations committed to the Two-State Solution.
The meeting aims to take stock of efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East, to highlight the successes achieved in this area, and to draw the appropriate lessons for concrete, time-bound measures to relaunch the Two-State solution. The meeting will also explore ways of building the Palestinian economy.
The work of the meeting is divided into three thematic sessions dealing with the impact of peace processes in the Middle East, efforts to support the governance structures of the Palestinian state, and the economic foundations of peace in the region.

UK Position Will Strengthen Momentum Around Moroccan Sahara Issue Under HM the King's Leadership
The position expressed by the United Kingdom regarding the Moroccan Sahara will help reinforce the momentum this issue has gained under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, stated Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, on Sunday in Rabat. This position represents "a significant development," given that the United Kingdom is a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council and a member of the Group of Friends of the UN Secretary-General on the Sahara, noted Bourita during a press briefing with the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, David Lammy. In this regard, the minister noted that "four countries within the Group of Friends of the UN Secretary-General on the Sahara have now joined this dynamic and expressed support for the Autonomy Initiative—namely France, the United States, Spain, and now the United Kingdom." Bourita also emphasized that the United Kingdom has always been an influential and credible voice at the European, UN, and international levels. He added that this position will also have positive economic implications, as UK Export Finance may consider supporting investment projects in the southern provinces of the Kingdom. He stressed that Morocco does not view the growing support for its position on the Sahara as a privilege or a means of maintaining the status quo, but rather as a factor that can help bring about a resolution to a conflict that has lasted more than 50 years. Bourita noted that the United Nations and the international community now have a real opportunity to reach a definitive solution to this dispute, based on the Autonomy Initiative proposed by Morocco within the framework of its sovereignty. He expressed hope that all parties will engage seriously in finding a lasting resolution to the issue. Furthermore, Bourita described Lammy's visit to the Kingdom as "historic" in many respects. He explained that this is the first visit by a UK Foreign Secretary to Morocco since 2011, and it will allow for a qualitative leap in bilateral relations. It also provided an opportunity to hold the 5th session of the Strategic Dialogue between the two countries and to discuss various bilateral and regional issues. "This visit is also significant and historic in that it enabled the United Kingdom to express its position on the Moroccan Sahara," the minister added, noting that the joint communiqué signed on this occasion affirms that the United Kingdom "considers the Autonomy Proposal presented [by Morocco] in 2007 as the most credible, serious, and pragmatic basis for a lasting resolution to the regional dispute" over the Moroccan Sahara, and "will continue to act at the bilateral level, particularly in economic matters, as well as regionally and internationally, in line with this position." Bourita also stated that this visit marks a turning point in relations between the two countries. He emphasized that, in line with the High Royal Directives aimed at diversifying and strengthening partnerships, Morocco has engaged in a dialogue to further develop "our bilateral relations based on the centuries-old ties between the two countries and the special relationship uniting the two Royal Families." As a result, the minister stressed that the two countries are working to inject new momentum into their bilateral relations and to elevate the Morocco-UK partnership to cover all sectors, including the economy, security, culture, defense, investment, education, and scientific research. In addition, Bourita recalled that four agreements were signed on this occasion, with more expected to be concluded in the coming two days, giving new impetus to Morocco–UK relations and ushering in a new era of bilateral cooperation. Freedom Flotilla Sets Sails for Gaza to Protest Israel's Systematic Genocide, Famine
A vessel operated by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) has set sail for Gaza in a new attempt to break Israel's deadly siege, which has deliberately starved the Palestinian population amid the unfolding genocide. The sailing boat, 'Madleen', departed on Sunday from the port of Catania, Sicily, carrying humanitarian aid for the devastated people of Gaza. On board are 12 international activists, including climate justice leader Greta Thunberg, Game of Thrones actor Liam Cunningham, European Parliament member Rima Hassan, and Palestinian-American human rights attorney Huwaida Arraf. 'We are doing this because, no matter what odds we are against, we have to keep trying,' said an emotional Thunberg. 'Because the moment we stop trying is when we lose our humanity. And no matter how dangerous this mission is, it's not even close to the danger of the world's silence in the face of a livestreamed genocide.' This latest mission comes just one month after another FFC vessel, 'Conscience', was attacked by two drones in international waters near Malta. The FFC accused Israel of the assault, which damaged the vessel and forced the mission to be aborted. Founded in 2010, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition has spent the past 15 years attempting to challenge the blockade on Gaza — long before the events of October 7. Israel has imposed a brutal naval blockade on the enclave since 2007, choking off movement, aid, and basic survival for over two million Palestinians. All attempts have been intercepted while others were prevented from even leaving port. Supporters and organizers of the coalition say that the voyage itself is both a forward and symbolic act of defiance that raises awareness for the Palestinian cause, and more practically is an attempt to bring vital aid to Gaza's shores. One of the most notorious examples occurred in May 2010, when Israeli commandos stormed the Turkish-flagged Mavi Marmara in international waters, killing ten Turkish activists. Israel framed these murders as 'self defense' claiming that they opened fire to protect themselves from the activists on board. In response to a peaceful mission that seeks to deliver aid to a population under siege and facing systematically engineered famine, US senior Senator Lindsey Graham, reacted with a social media post stating, 'Hope Greta and her friends can swim!'— showcasing the moral decay of Israel and its backers. The mission also comes amid the ongoing failure of the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation's (GHF) to safely and effectively deliver aid to Gaza's starving population. Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) have repeatedly opened fire on Palestinians at distribution points — described by many as death traps reminiscent of Nazi concentration camps. Major humanitarian organizations, including the UN and Save the Children, have refused to engage with GHF, citing its lack of neutrality, political entanglement, and unsafe aid distribution methods. Palestinian activists are even warning those on the ground to avoid them in fear that they are being used as bait and target points by the IOF. The Madleen is expected to reach Gaza in seven days, barring obstruction. Veteran flotilla activist Michael Coleman, who sailed in a 2011 mission, emphasized that success is not solely defined by reaching the shore as the mission also raises awareness of the situation in Gaza. 'We'll sail until Palestine is free,' Coleman declared. The voyage is both a defiant act of solidarity and a challenge to a world order that has, through inaction, permitted one of the most egregious crimes of the 21st century to unfold in real time.

Algeria Faces Isolation as Support for Morocco's Western Sahara Position Expands
Rabat – The Algerian regime's maneuvering campaign against Morocco's territorial integrity is facing a strong pushback from the international community that now rallies behind a more pragmatic approach to resolve the Western Sahara dispute. On Sunday, the UK made a historic announcement, expressing support for Morocco's Autonomy Plan as the most serious and credible political solution to end the dispute over Western Sahara – a first from London which has for years clung to its traditional support for the UN-led political process. The UK made its decision during Foreign Secretary David Lammy's visit to Rabat, where he met with senior officials and conveyed the country's new position. 'The UK recognises the importance of the question of Western Sahara for the Kingdom of Morocco and follows closely the current positive dynamic on this issue under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI,' the UK government announced. The country agreed with Morocco on the urgent need to find a resolution to the long-held dispute, noting that it's time for a resolution to move the issue forward. 'Both countries support, and consider vital, the central role of the UN-led process to bring the parties together and move the issue forward to achieve a just, lasting, and mutually acceptable political solution and reaffirm their full support for the efforts of the UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy, MR. Staffan de Mistura,' the final joint statement said. The decision was met with frustration from a few parties supporting outdated narratives, including independence and referendum claims that are propelled by separatist groups like the Polisario Front, backed by Algeria. In the usual course of events, following international powers supporting Rabat's stance, the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs would issue a press statement condemning countries' decisions to support Morocco's territorial integrity. On Sunday, the Algerian regime took a similar approach against the UK's new position as it does after every announcement in favor of Morocco's territorial integrity and sovereignty over its southern provinces. 'Algeria has taken note of the new position adopted by the United Kingdom regarding the issue of Western Sahara,' the Algerian regime said , adding that it regrets London's choice to support the Moroccan autonomy plan. 'In its eighteen years of existence, this plan has never been presented to the Sahrawis as a basis for negotiation, nor has it ever been taken seriously by the successive UN envoys to this post,' the Algerian regime said in its statement, describing the internationally-backed initiative as 'empty' proposal that it is 'unable' to offer a 'serious and credible solution to the Western Sahara conflict.' Algeria's stance fully contrasts with the momentum of the current situation, in which Morocco enjoys full support from over 113 countries that describe Rabat's autonomy plan as a serious and credible political solution. Many countries also view the autonomy initiative as the most or the only feasible political framework able to end the dispute over Western Sahara. Morocco's Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita conveyed Morocco's gratitude for the UK's support, noting that Lammy's visit to Morocco is meaningful due to a 'major development in the United Kingdom's position on the Moroccan Sahara.' 'From today onward, we will work together bilaterally, regionally, and internationally, grounding our relations in this strategic partnership,' Bourita said, describing the new milestone as 'one of great significance, if not historic.'
