Linda Evangelista has very modest 60th birthday party... after not getting out of bed for less than $10K a day
Linda Evangelista was surrounded by family and friends as she celebrated her 60th birthday earlier this month.
The former supermodel, who looked chic at a recent charity gala in New York City, chose a relaxed by elegant look for the casual backyard party to mark her latest trip around the sun in photos posted on Tuesday.
The runway veteran donned a black and gray flannel shirt over a vintage Blue Oyster Cult T-shirt with a long denim skirt for the gathering. She later added a beige jacket as the sun went down and the temperatures became cooler.
She pulled her dark locks back into a bun and wore natural looking makeup. The ___ accessorized with a thick gold necklace and large sunglasses in the late afternoon sun.
The table was beautifully spread with finger foods that included charcuterie and crudité, with various dips and cheeses.
Pink, purple and yellow tulips decorated the buffet table, while gorgeous bouquets of flowers were placed around her home.
This comes 35 years after she stated in a Vogue interview in 1990, 'We don't wake up for less than $10,000 a day.'
The Ready to Wear beauty blew out the candle of a very small chocolate cake with a gold '60' placed on top.
One friend gave Evangelista a bottle of wine aptly named La Linda.
Modest party favors included lollipops with a black and white photo of Evangelista at the height of her career and mini chocolate bars, featuring a photo of the model and her son, Augustin (Augie) 18, whom she shares with ex, François-Henri Pinault, who is now married to Salma Hayek.
'Thanks to everyone who made 60 so special. I love you all,' the Canadian-American model wrote next to the photos shared on social media Monday.
Well wishes came in from all around the world for the international beauty. 'Happiest Birthday beauty❤️❤️❤️love you, 'wrote fellow model and actress Amber Valletta.
'Happiest of Birthdays! ❤️' seconded Iman. 'Happy Birthday, Goddess!! ♥️' exclaimed actress Gwendolyn Christie. Julianne Moore, Selma Blair and Nancy Sinatra also sent their best wishes.
Although she seemed very comfortable posing for pictures with friends at her party, the former cover model has said it is difficult for her to look in the mirror following the trauma of having a bad reaction to a series of Cool Sculpting procedures designed to be a non-invasive option to liposuction.
Instead of losing the fat, she developed Paradoxical adipose hyperplasia, a rare side effect in which the targeted fat cells grew larger rather than smaller. Evangelista said she it left her 'permanently deformed' and 'brutally disfigured' in an emotional social media post in 2021.

In an interview with Harper's Bazaar in April, Evangelista said she looked forward to growing older. 'I don't care how I age. I just want to age,' she stated.
'It doesn't have to be gracefully. I really, really, really don't want to die. I have still so much to do. I'm finally getting comfortable with myself and with everything, and now I want to enjoy it.'
'I'm alive. I'm alive. I'm alive,' she said, 'and I'm going to do what I have to do. I'm going to fight because I don't want it any other way. I'm not done.'
