Rod Stewart to receive Lifetime Achievement Award
Sir Rod Stewart is set to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs). The 'Maggie May' hitmaker - who will play the world-famous Glastonbury Festival's Sunday afternoon legends slot in June - will collect the accolade and perform one of his "timeless classics" at the bash. A statement from executive producers Barry Adelman, EVP, Television, and Alexi Mazareas, SVP, Programming and Development, Dick Clark Productions read: "Sir Rod Stewart is a master showman whose charisma and energy have defied time and embody the very spirit of rock and roll. "We are looking forward to another epic performance on the AMAs stage as well as celebrating his incredible body of work when he receives the Lifetime Achievement Award." It will mark Rod's first performance at the AMAs since 2004. Rod has sold more than 120 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time. Elsewhere, Janet Jackson will be bestowed with the Icon Award. As well as being honoured with the prize in recognition of her "undeniable cultural and global influence," Janet will be taking to the stage at the ceremony on May 26 - in what marks her first TV performance in seven years. The 58-year-old music star reacted on Instagram: "Thank you so much, AMAs!! It's an honor. We look forward to being on your stage again. See you in Vegas! (sic)" The 'Rhythm Nation' hitmaker follows in the footsteps of the likes of Rihanna and Lionel Richie. The 2025 AMAs take place at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Las Vegas and will be hosted by Jennifer Lopez. Kendrick Lamar dominated the nominations with 10.

David Beckham shares sweet new birthday snaps as he thanks family amid Brooklyn no-show
David Beckham gave fans a closer look at his lavish 50th birthday celebrations as he shared intimate images from his party and thanked those who made the occasion so special David Beckham has provided another sneak peek into his lavish 50th birthday bash with unseen photos. The former footballer celebrated his landmark occasion in style surrounded by his nearest and dearest - yet, there was no sign of son Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz. Despite the no-show amid rumours of a family rift, it appeared the snub didn't dampen Becks' spirits. The star looked firmly in party mode during the wild night at London's Core Restaurant on Saturday night. And Becks took to social media to share new snaps of the night, which is said to have ended at 3.30am after noise complaints. He joked in the caption: "OK OK I promise this was the last party," mocking his efforts to prolong his special day. Among the new snaps was a look at Cruz performing Island in the Stream. Victoria had confessed the tune was personal to the her and David in her own loving social media post on his birthday. Posting the snaps on both his Facebook and Instagram pages, David thanked those who helped him celebrate. He wrote: "Feeling very lucky to round off an amazing week celebrating my 50th with incredible friends , I think you can tell by my smile I enjoyed this... "Thank you to everyone and especially my wife @victoriabeckham… We are still laughing and dancing after all these years." The first of the images on show was of the happy couple looking stunning in a black-and-white snap of the pair standing on the stairs. Becks is seen in another in a fit of laughter as Posh gives a speech at the dinner table. Harper is seen smiling beside her. David is seen embracing his youngest in a third image, before a fourth showed Romeo bringing out his dad's birthday cake. Other shots included Cruz's guitar performance, and David dancing with his daughter. Despite Brooklyn not being at the parties, Becks did mention his son in an Instagram Stories message. He was enjoying time in Scotland with his other sons and shared an image of their trip. The former England footballer documented a fishing and camping holiday with his two younger sons, revealing that the trip had been in the works for several months. The visit, which included preparing freshly caught scallops, blue lobster, and crab, appeared to focus on simplicity, family time, and the outdoors. "Six months ago planned a trip with my boys at the start of last week to camp and fish for my 50th,' Beckham wrote in one caption. 'Was so much fun.' In another image, Becks added: "You were missed Brooklyn," tagging his 26-year-old son above a lakeside photo featuring himself with Romeo and Cruz.

It's believed they are both set to attend the MET Gala this evening instead. The party in London capped off a string of intimate family events to celebrate David. David revealed he took boys Cruz and Romeo on a fishing trip ahead of his birthday, and on Thursday the family held an intimate dinner at their Cotswolds mansion. After that, the family had a flying visit to Bordeaux for an afternoon at a vineyard, and were later seen emerging from their posh hotel, after splashing the cash at one of their favourite hotel's in the city, La Réserve. They then headed back to the UK for the big bash in Kensington – where they partied until police shut it down. An onlooker said: 'David's party really went off and the longer time went on, the louder the music seemed to get. 'Some neighbours weren't very happy when it was still so loud at 2am and leaned out windows to see where the racket was from.' Kensington and Chelsea Council said advice was given to minimise disruption.
