I'm so happy with my cheap & easy council house bathroom makeover – I used a £2.50 Poundland buy & TikTok Shop tiles

A DIY enthusiast has shared how she gave her bathroom a mega makeover for less than £100. Eager to keep the costs down, Amber, who is currently on a mission to turn her ' council house into a home,' used bargains from Poundland and TikTok Shop to transform her space from drab to fab. 2 So if you want to add style to your home and aren't sure where to start, you'll be pleased to know that you've come to the right place. Posting on social media, the content creator uploaded a short clip showing off her bathroom prior to its overhaul, which she shared with the caption 'On a budget and need to upcycle your bathroom? I got you!' Amber then revealed how she transformed her council bathroom for less than £100 as she beamed: 'I am so happy with the final results of this and I'm gonna show you how I did it.' Rather than forking out for a new shower system and posh tiles, Amber used a multi-purpose spray paint from Poundland and peel and stick self-adhesive tiles from TikTok Shop. She explained: 'So I used these TikTok shop tiles and some £2.50 spray paint from Poundland and I sprayed the f**k out of that shower cause it was yellow as f**k.' As she stuck the tiles to her bathroom wall, she added: 'I am obsessed with these tiles - I also have them in my kitchen, they've been up for six months now and they're still perfect. 'These tiles are a little bit trickier to put up than the ones in my kitchen because of the pattern, but, you know, it is doable. It's great, I'm literally obsessed.' Showing off the finished space, which was given a fresh new look quickly, easily and on a very tight budget, the DIY fan continued: 'I love it, this is such a cheap and easy way to transform your bathroom or your kitchen.' While Amber spent less than £3 on the black spray paint, her 'game changer' Living And Home peel and stick wall tiles, which you can buy from TikTok Shop, were £19.99 for a pack of 10. There's plenty of colours and styles to choose from and Amber acknowledged that she bought six packs but has 'loads spare.' Trolls say council houses can't look nice but my stunning hallway will prove them wrong The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @ amberjw.x, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 130,500 views, 5,114 likes and 71 comments. DIY fans were impressed with Amber's simple but effective bathroom makeover and many eagerly raced to the comments to express this. One person said: 'Looks great!' Another added: 'Love it.' However, many had the same complaint, as one user begged: 'Please purchase a new shower head.' A second chimed in and asked: 'Why didn't you replace your shower head?' Whilst someone else wondered: 'Why didn't you do the shower head? It's still yellow.'

I was tired of my dull bathroom so I spruced it up with £4 B&Q bargains – people can't believe how ‘lush' the glow-up is

A THRIFTY woman has left people open-mouthed with her epic bathroom glow-up on a budget. With the costs soaring, millions of cash-strapped Brits are looking for inspiration to make their homes go from drab to fab without forking out thousands. 2 If you're one of them, you've come to the right place, as one DIY fan, Amy Elizabeth Carter, recently shared her jaw-dropping bathroom makeover. Amy took to the popular DIY On A Budget Official page where she proved there's no need to spend a fortune to give your home a brand new look. Before the epic transformation, the bathroom looked pretty plain and lacked any character, featuring a basic white bathtub, as well as what appeared to be light brown tile flooring. But rather than having professionals quote her eye-watering sums, Amy decided to take matters into her own hands - and the glow-up has already become a major hit on Facebook. The makeover, which cost her just £800, included chic light grey cerami c wall and floor tiles that go for just £4 for a sample at B&Q. The timeless design instantly enhanced the space with its soft grey tones and versatile style - and according to Amy, she did everything herself. During the gorgeous DIY makeover, the thrifty woman also attached a round LED mirror onto one of the walls - ideal for doing your make-up or taking a cheeky selfie. Meanwhile, the black fittings, such as the radiator, went perfect with the brand new shower screen which cost her a little under £180. Although Amy did pay an expert to colour-match the silicone, everything else was a DIY job - and you wouldn't be able to tell that by the photos. ''Bathroom on a budget,'' the Facebook user proudly wrote in the caption, as dozens flooded to comments. I live in a council house with no storage & made a dream dressing table for £21… it's great for those with limited space Close to 40 people shared their thoughts, as more than 100 gave the post a like. I DIY-ed my council house bathroom using a Argos buy that was a doddle to put up – I did it all after the school run

A WOMAN sick of her council house looking like a "s**thole" has shown how she transformed it on a budget. Mum-of-two Crystal regularly shares videos of her DIY projects, with her bathroom makeover next on her list. 4 4 4 4 "I live in a council house and I'm trying to turn this s**thole into a nice home," she began her TikTok video. "I've been doing a bathroom makeover for the past couple of weeks, which included me sticking sticky floor tiles to my actual tiles in the bathroom, which may I say have come out absolutely fabulous. "And now I'm finally nearly done!" One of the final finishing touches was the shower screen, which she picked up for £80 in Argos. And sharing her impatience, Crystal admitted she wasn't going to wait for anyone to help her put it up, so decided to do it herself after the school run. "I had to use two different drill parts for this as the tiles were vinyl and normal tiles underneath," she said. "And to be fair it was actually really easy to put up." Once she'd hung it up, she admitted she'd made something of a mistake putting it up, as she hung the hinges upside down, so it only opens inwards rather than outwards. However, in the comments section, people said it would be better that it only opens inwards. "I think it's a good job it doesn't open outwards my son would 100% smash it on the sink," one wrote. You'd never know I live in a council house thanks to how good it looks - I shopped in IKEA & an Amazon tip saved me cash "There is always that to be thankful for I suppose!" Crystal laughed. "My kids probably would too ffs!" "I need this ordering right now!" another person commented. "Oh I need a shower screen instead of my curtain I replace every month!" a third insisted. "This is amazing, I admire people like you so much - I'm absolutely dire at anything practical!" someone else wrote. "Beautiful! I've been wanting one of these, you've given me hope I can do it!" another added. The reality of living in a council house LEANNE Hall, Digital Writer at Fabulous, has discussed what it was like growing up in a council house, and why those living in such properties are often judged... When I was a child I grew up in a council house, and was blissfully unaware of the discrimination that came with that, until I became an adult. My younger years were spent running up and down the stairs of my flat, meeting with other friends who lived there and making the most of the communal garden. But now, it seems no matter your circumstance, everyone has something to say about why you shouldn't be there. Living just outside of London like I did, rent prices are still high, and as my mum was at home raising three kids at the time, it wasn't easy to find a job that fit around that. People in council houses are often labelled as 'scroungers' or 'lazy' but it's nothing of the sort. Most families in council homes experience overcrowding, and let's not even mention the horrendous amount of damp and mould that comes from living in old social housing that hasn't had work done to them in 50 or so years. It's not ideal for many, but it does provide a secure home without the fear your rent will shoot up every single year, which I would argue is vital to children growing up on the poverty line. While someone else asked: "Did you say you used stick on floor tiles on the wall? They look amazing!! "How are they holding up under the water and humidity. "Well done by the way, I wish I could use a drill I would've saved myself loads on my home makeover!" "Yes they are amazing," Crystal replied. "I used them in my last house and now in this one to as they hold up so well! "They are fully water tight I grouted and sealed all edges."
