Here's the first Qi2.2 wireless power bank with faster charging speeds and much more

If you are a power user, one of the most important tools you need to carry with you at all times is a power bank. With this accessory, you can go about the day carrying your phone, not worrying whether you will be consuming too much battery life by streaming an episode of House on your phone while taking the bus to work in the morning. Portable power banks can carry anywhere from a battery capacity of 5000mAh to as high as 35000mAh or more. The thing to remember is that the higher the capacity of your power bank, the more unwieldy it is. For example, I own power banks with 5000mAh battery capacity, and they fit in my pocket. A power bank with this capacity usually provides the user with one to two full charges, with the lower number more likely. I also have a 35000mAh power bank that will definitely provide me with multiple charges, but it is also the size of a brick, is very heavy, and is not pocketable. With the latest Qi2.2 wireless charging standard announced by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), devices like power banks can now charge as fast as 50W in certain implementations. More likely, your charging speed with a Qi2.2 device will be 25W. That is a significant jump from the 15W charging speed available on the Qi and Qi2 standards. -UGREEN Difference between the first Qi standard and the latest. | Image credit-UGREEN Despite the faster charging speeds with Qi2.2, not too many devices offer it. Today, the world's first Qi2.2 power bank has been introduced. The UGREEN MagFlow Magnetic Power Bank carries 10000mAh in battery capacity and a 25W wireless charging speed. It is equipped with a built-in USB-C cable for those times when you want to charge with a wire, and an extra USB-C port in case you want to charge two devices at the same time. A display on the side of the power bank will tell you exactly how much battery life remains on it and whether you need to plug it in to replenish the power bank. The UGREEN MagFlow Magnetic Power Bank will be released sometime this fall with improved magnetic auto-alignment, 25W charging speed, temperature protection that prevents overheating, and more. Pricing remains unknown for now.

Phone as slim as the S25 Ultra but with a 10,000 mAh battery coming next year

If you thought that silicon batteries had reached their limits and could go no further, think again. A mid-range phone with a whopping 10,000 mAh battery and thickness to rival the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will be entering the testing phase early next year. This unnamed phone ( translated source ) is likely a result of new strategies that are being developed to combat the limits of silicon batteries. While 7,500 mAh batteries are becoming more common, phone manufacturers want to see just how far they can push these new cells. Recently, the Honor Power debuted with a large 8,000 mAh battery, and the company has already released a new phone with a battery capacity of 8,300 mAh. From a purely numerical perspective, Apple and Samsung have fallen extremely far behind. The idea of an iPhone or Galaxy flagship with a 10,000 mAh battery, let alone an 8,000 mAh battery, is a pipe dream. However, there is a lot more to batteries than you might initially assume, especially when it comes to silicon batteries. A 10,000 mAh phone that's slimmer than 8.5 mm sounds excellent, and it is, but it won't last nearly as long as your iPhone 16, Google Pixel 9, or Samsung Galaxy S25. The Galaxy S25 Ultra kept the same 5,000 mAh battery as its predecessors. | Video credit — Samsung Samsung just announced the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and it keeps the same battery that the Fold 6 had, with a capacity of 4,400 mAh. In my opinion, the Fold 7's battery is pretty good. It's not mind-blowing, but it will be working at much better capacity after a couple thousand charges than its silicon rivals. This approach also complements Samsung's much longer software support cycle, while most Chinese phone manufacturers rely on people upgrading more often. Honor might be going against the grain, however, as the newly-released Magic V5 foldable phone will also get seven years of support. If you change phones often, then silicon batteries are definitely a more enticing option. And a slim phone with a 10,000 mAh battery sounds like a dream come true. Especially if you're against Apple and Samsung's recent approach with the Galaxy S25 Edge and the iPhone 17 Air, which sacrifice battery life for aesthetics. Here's why Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold7 doesn't have a bigger battery

Vlad, 11 July 2025 Yesterday at its grand Unpacked event, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold7, Flip7, and Flip7 FE. And while the Flip7's battery capacity has grown compared to its predecessor, the same can unfortunately not be said about the Fold7, which has the same 4,400 mAh cell as the Fold6. If you're wondering why this is, Samsung has an answer, sort of. Asked by SamMobile why the Flip7 got a battery increase and the Fold7 didn't, the company said a bigger battery is what most Galaxy Z Flip series users demanded, while for the Fold7 there were other priorities, like better cameras, a thinner and lighter body, and a wider cover screen. And indeed Samsung has delivered on all of those points with the Fold7, ending its years-long hibernation in the space and finally coming out with a competitive device against its Chinese counterparts - in all ways but one, and you guessed it, the main way in which it's now lagging is the battery capacity. But with the thinness and lightness it boasts, we assume a higher battery capacity simply isn't possible unless Samsung decides to switch to Si/C batteries like all of the Chinese brands have. If it takes that step, then it can provide more mAh in the same size, if not even future Folds might be stuck around 4,400 mAh unfortunately, despite that being required to power two screens that have gotten larger this generation. If you're interested in learning more about the Fold7, take a look at our hands-on report and our camera samples, and stay tuned for our full comprehensive review coming soon.
