Failure to do so will result in seat cancellation. Students will have the option to choose either the "Upgrade" or "Freeze" option. If they select the Upgrade option, they will need to pay the difference in fees. In case no upgrade is available, their current seat will be retained. If they choose the Freeze option, their allotted seat will be secured with no further changes. In the "Upgrade" option, the difference in fee means that students who upgrade from a 20,000 rupee course to 25,000 rupee course will have to pay the difference of 5,000 rupees.

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) on August 8 released the Round-1 seat allotment list for its undergraduate courses under the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2025 admission process. Students who fail to pay the fees online will get their seats cancelled, and such candidates will not be considered for further rounds in the same programme. However, they may be eligible for allotment in other programmes if they have applied, as per the allotment rules. After the fee payment, candidates can choose between the free or upgrade options. Those opting for an upgrade must pay the fee difference if allotted a higher preference seat later. If no upgrade occurs, they will retain their current seat. BHU has advised candidates to review the eligibility criteria carefully before payment and to avoid last-minute delays by completing the process well before the deadline. The BHU UG round 2 seat allotment will be held on August 11. The third and fourth rounds of UG admission counselling will be conducted on August 14 and August 18, respectively. Students admitted should be present for the offline reporting at the faculty or college allocated on August 25. UG classes for 2025 session will start on August 28. BHU might also conduct spot admission rounds for UG programmes after the physical reporting. Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has issued a public notice warning students against fake admission messages being sent on WhatsApp and through text. Banaras Hindu University ( BHU ) has issued a public advisory warning admission aspirants and students against fake and fraudulent WhatsApp messages that falsely offer admission opportunities. The university stated that these messages often contain unverified links and URLs designed to mislead recipients. In a press release issued by the Public Relations Office, BHU clarified that it does not use WhatsApp or any other instant messaging platforms to send admission-related communication. Instead, official admission updates are shared only through the following verified email addresses: admission@ These communications are sent to the email addresses registered by candidates in their online application forms and are also updated on their respective student portals. Only official emails and student portal are valid sources The university emphasised that no admission confirmations or alerts are issued through third-party platforms or unofficial channels. It urged candidates to rely solely on BHU's official admission portal and the verified email IDs for any updates. The institution has further clarified that all official messages are directed only to the email addresses provided during registration and are accessible on the student portal.
